I'm doing it in two wheel drive, what a waste of a day. So disappointed, I am never coming here again :(

@Thatbassguy Damn, all my tools unused. Where to test the limits of my 4Runner?

Just a stupid trail that a Honda Civic can conquer.

IDK. Most of the trails I do are easy, too. Might as well head to MOAB.

    Where is this "stupid" trail?

Like hundred miles from Seattle, the only things that were tested I think were the ground clearance and the articulation, that's pretty much it

I see minivans on the Trans Wisconsin trail. :D I still have fun every time I go through there. We did a run this past weekend and just enjoyed the colors. :)

I only really push mine a few times a year. Most of the time I just use it to get to campsites and other places far away from the city. That's what's great about a 4runner. It's not just good for wheeling.

I have absolutely zero regret for buying this vehicle and spending so much money. This vehicle is absolutely worth it, it is a beast, right size, not too big, not too small, it is perfect, and it is the most solid and well built vehicle in production, PERIOD!
Buy 4Runners people, don't waste your money on stupid cars. I know it has bad gas mileage, but it's not too bad.

It's nice having a badass 4×4 that's as enjoyable to drive to the trail as it is on the trail.

Are you crazy? I would have thrown it in 4 wheel drive, maybe even 4 lo with atrac on. You never know…;)

This just means that you’ll have to do your monthly transfer case exercise on a straight paved roads.!

I was begging the trail to get me stuck, didn't happen even once. There was some mud on a tight uphill where I had to turn, wheels slipped but I still made it. I didn't touch the transfer case at all, forget about the rest of the tools. I would blame the KDSS for this disappointment. It made the 4Runner dance and twist around and 4WD wasn't necessary for such an easy trail.

1st world problems...anyway, that 4R already saw a lot more trail than 95% of all sold in the past 5 years. Or lifted trucks. Or Jeeps.

When I drove my dad's 3rd gen 4R with no locker, we DID badly stuck around snowy mountains. It was north of Kabul, Afghanistan. Those mountains in the background. Too bad I won't be able to go there again. Beautiful country run by bloodthirsty radicals
So you are right, 1st world has its cons lol.

I don’t know man, you’re crazy lol. I dont want to tempt fate. I prefer to explore with the knowledge that rough terrain probably wont stop my 4runner. Then be happily surprised when a challenge comes up.

Except when trails are tight and the only result will be pinstriping. I dont have to explore those :D

Yeah, a Camry might be able to do that trail dry. But what about when it’s wet out?

Don't underestimate a lifted Camry. I've seen many lifted Corolla hatchbacks, by lift I mean over 9 inches, they're running around in the uneven snowy streets of Kabul all the time :p:D

The whole moral of this whole thing is that America is a blessed country and Americans are blessed people. Everything here is overqualified, like take the example of our cars.
I will give you another example. I mean an F-4 Phantom with some decent modern avionics(even with the old stock avionics) is perfectly capable of intercepting and chasing off the intruding old archaic Russian bombers over the Alaskan Waters. But no, they send an F-22 Raptor up there :D

No, don't get me wrong, I loved the place, so beautiful, by waste I meant that I didn't get to use all 4 by 4 tools that my 4Runner comes with. I could have used them, but that wouldn't be fun, because I didn't have to use them

I knew what you were getting at; I just feel that being there period was better than being in the city. They'll be plenty of opportunities to try and break your 4R, I imagine.

There's a place SE of Abq. called 4th of July Canyon we were at last week, and it reminds me very much of your photo. It was still a great day.

Yep. I don't intend to turn my 4Runner into a tough Beast with add-ons, but I will definitely put some light all terain tires on them, and I will get back to this Trail when it has snow on it. Although I highly doubt if this Trail even with snow deserves all terrain tires.

"intruding old archaic Russian bombers" - arrogant, overconfident, self-assured - all traits poised to lead to failure sooner or later.
America is not exactly blessed today: healthcare horror stories, war over war over war, capitalism taken to extreme where greed has taken over all common-sense, a country divided on politics, unreal anti-abortion laws, most corrupt politicians ever know to walk on this planet. If we are to dig deeper, we are all here on stolen land.
Anyway, back to your trail. It's better than whatever I have around my area. I actually go to construction sites where they store the subgrade fill. Get it dirty, vroom vroom, wash, beer, till next time.
Today's cars are not overqualified, they are overpriced. 4Runners are not American. Tundra is the most reliable out of them all, built in the USA, but GM/Ford/FCA cant build a truck anymore, with most of the parts and labor done in China.
    #blessed indeed.
I give credit where credit is due. America WAS blessed, but the Americans got lazy with their phones and lifted pavement queens and let their politicians make a mockery of them all.

If you are willing to put the hard work, and if you are willing to behave yourself and stay away from negative distractions like drugs and too much alcohol and too much sex and crime, then there is absolutely nothing that can stop you from becoming successful in America.
I have a decent job, and I'm doing fine. And I could have done so much better if I was born here. My dream was to become a fighter pilot, or an astronaut as a kid. But I did not have opportunities in my country. So I chose to become a software engineer instead and then ended up here. I am happy.
Those who think America has problems, let me take them to Afghanistan and show them what real problem looks like. Every morning you wake up, you should say God bless America!
    God Bless America!
