    I have a TRD pro and want to put 285/70/17 BFG TA K/O2 on stock pro wheels. I am sure they won't fit on an sr5, etc., but a PRO has a teeny bit more room. I have read a couple of guys have said they run these stock on a pro w/o rubbing. Don't know if I believe that.....I have Burtman 1" front and 1/2" rear spacers I was going to install and possibly add spider trax too.... will this suffice with no rubbing and no trimming??? or should I ditch that and go with Burtman 2" front 1" rear. Is anyone actually running this setup that can tell me their experience?? thank you thank you thank you!!! I want to get this right the first time. My 2007 Tacoma rubs and it drives me nuts when I back up sometimes. I don't want to trim but I only want to lift it the least amount I need.

    Following;
    My TRD ORP with 2.5 lift OME had rubbing issues with 285/70/17 BFG TA K/O2 until I cut the bottom of the bumper and pushed the inner fender liner. Interested to see if anyone did that on a stock TRD Pro.

    I have 285s on mine. I did put on the Eibach lifting springs. I still had to do the fender liner mod.

    I had billstein 2" on my Tacoma and had to push the inner fender liner and still have problems sometimes. I don't want that on this 4runner. I wonder if pushing the wheels out a bit with Spider Trax solves that problem or makes it worse?? ugh. I wish there was a precise answer. TY for your responses

    Hate to spoil the party, but a 285/70-17 KO2 is spec'd for a minimum 7.5" wheel, the TRD Pro wheels are 7". And even on 7.5" they look like balloon clown tires ...

    You don't say what year your Pro is but if it's a '21? the kit linked below and a proper alignment will get you the clearance you need to run 285/70/R17's without any trimming or cutting. If yours is a '19 or '20 they have a specific kit for those years too(also linked below). As to whether - after the lift - you would be able to successfully add wheel spacers I can not answer, but Jeff at Westcott can and will. Really nice guy.

    2019/20 kit > https://westcottdesigns.net/product/fox-trd-pro-lift-kit/

    Don't know the first thing about the Burtman kit you have and/or whether it provides enough body lift to give you the needed clearance. Best guess...it does not.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    This is a pretty great kit! Although I am looking at maybe even purchasing the front end kit to offset my planned upgrades C4 bumper, winch kit, and (maybe) second battery…

    The lift has not much to do with fitting the Bfg 285/70/17 KO 2's - The correct alignment is the most important factor. The way you truck is now might just work. Some have 285's without a lift.

    Most of the big name tire outlets advertise 285/70/R17's as mountable from 7.0 to 10.0 inches. If that doesn't look good to you, that's your taste.

    Since it isn’t spec’s this way for the KO2s, it’s more than just taste.

    Get a proper wheel for the tire size. Otherwise they’ll be ballooning out and be shaped wrong. That’s not taste, that’s a fact. You can do whatever you want, I’m not here to fix stupid.

    This is a harsh statement! Do they look to you like balloon clown tires?

    It is true that tire spec sheets recommend 7.5" for 285's but many of us are running 285's on Pro rims with no problems.

    I may run into an issue finding a tire store that is willing to replace my 285's. May have to go back to dealership where I got the original setup.

    Please don't get angry. May be sharing tire manufacture's spec sheet might help to take a decision..:cheers:
