Hey 4Runner community - has anyone removed the door sill trim on front and rear of a 5th Gen?

If so, are there any 'tricks' or 'gotcha's' waiting in that process? Typically, these are just on with pound in friction clips that pop off when pulled/pry straight up but trim can sometimes have a lateral sliding component to them to come off.

So before I went about it thought I'd ask the community first to try and avoid dickin up my new vehicle trim with guess work...

    Thx much all!

It prys right up and off. Some popping sounds come with it but that’s all. Start on one end and work your way down. Takes about 30 seconds (that was my experience pulling the drivers door trim)

I tried to remove my door sill cover and it’s like it glued on the outer edge. I guess I will try prying with a screwdriver like mentioned above.
How’re the clips on the inside edge came undone easily when I pulled.

Don't use a screwdriver. Get some plastic trim tools.

So you don't accidentally scratch up any paint. Also if you start at the front of the moulding you can just pry it up by you hands. Pull straight up, don't pull to the side or you risk breaking the tabs.

Check out this video. While it is for installing a break controller, it shows how to remove the door sill plastic piece.
