Hello, from Ottawa, Canada here, and we are picking up our new SR5 this morning.

I have watched a ton of video about the vehicle and I am left with only one set of unanswered questions so far: I live in a salt road climate, how can I best protect the frame? Does Krown spray the frame, or just the body? What are some other options?

I am also interested to know what brand of snow tires people like for this vehicle. Where I live we get snow and ice, sometimes deep snow, but mostly plowed roads and ice. The dealer recommends TOYO, my current vehicle has Continentals that I find perform well on that VW Tiguan. I will be putting the snow tires on the factory rims, and in the spring I will purchase custom rims for the vehicle to hold the stock tires.

We purchased the 4RUNNER because we want to purchase a trailer. Our current vehicle can't tow, and we dislike the VW anyhow, so today is a big win.

fluid film, woolwax or Crown. just to name a few. Find some place that does this and let them soak the frame and any other metal.

Welcome from Missouri. Been to Ontario many times on business.
When my 21' ORP had 600 miles, I took mine to Krown. Interesting they are a Canadian origin Company. I was very satisfied with their treatment. They did the entire frame, chassis, doors, tailgate, etc. Since it goes on clear, they do the engine compartment, including electrical connections. All for about $140.00 USD. They recommend you repeat the process once a year, and this will keep the warranty intact. You can even watch them working on your truck from a remote TV screen in their waiting area. Of course, this will be it's first Winter coming up soon. So, I'll report back here on the Forum next Spring. But I was impressed with Krown's application and service level.
    Congrats on your new rig.

By the way, the entire Krown process only took about 1 1/2 hours.
