Just wondering if any of you folks have experience (good or bad) with cross bar cargo bags. I have a 2019 5th gen (which will be soon equipped with the LFD Cross Bars on the OEM roof rails). There are a lot of options out there but I'm hoping someone here has experience with "been there - done that". What's a good product and what do I to stay away from?

    Thanks! :)

Purchased this Thule Basket off local Craigslist for $150 and picked up this Thule Travel Bag for $40 at Target; then purchased one of those bungee spider nets for extra security … Took a 10 hour drive to Myrtle Beach … everything worked great on the drive there & back! … Even though the bag is somewhat weather proof I still wrapped our luggage up in trash bags.

Thanks for the quick response: do you happen to remember the bag’s capacity? I’ve seen pictures of some vehicles where the bag was half the size of the rig - not after that look - just something that nicely squares up with the small OEM rails.

Think it was something like 10 to 12 cubic feet and it came with it’s own storage bag when you want to store it. … Just did a google search and I didn’t pay those kinds of prices, but I guess I’ve own it for about 10yrs now.

I have one of these bags. Very durable and pretty much weatherproof. They always have sales going on as well, you can get them for a good price

Their awnings are awesome I have the smaller one because I have a 3/4 frontrunner roof rack. Their stuff is high quality in my opinion. Love the dimmable led light strip on the awning

I use the largest of the ARB stormproof bags strapped to my rack. Usually carry the awning room/tent/sleeping bags and pads, I have never seen a hint of moisture in the bag after rain.

I’ve bought two different ones. The second was when traveling cross country and I needed to replace the cargo container that was bouncing around. Hands down the bag was better for that situation.
