    Hello everyone,
So I am the proud new owner of a 1999 4Runner! I have been building mustangs for 14 years and currently still have my 2019 Mustang GT garage queen. Wanted to get into some overlanding type activities and found this gem. I has 300k miles and a couple minor leaks I am repairing but NO rust. The underside looks amazing. Runs like a dream and the a/c is ice cold. Went ahead and ordered a radiator and OEM lower ball joints for preventative measures. However the front brakes are terrible. I want to do the 231mm tundra upgrade. Have all the parts sourced and ready to go, but I cannot for the life of me find what wheels these are to make sure they clear. They're 16" and from Toyota but look different than all the ones I have seen on 3rd gens factory. Any help would be appreciated!

    Welcome, and nice rig!

I'm pretty sure you'll need (any) 17" wheels in order to upgrade to Tundra brakes, but someone will correct me if not.

I like those rims. Maybe service the brakes, there not that bad stock. Bleed new fluid, prob rebuild the rears. It’s simple really just a couple springs and washers with the new shoes.

The reason I said the rear was most of your stopping power is in the front yes but the rear has to work in unison may feel like fronts.

Those are Sequoia rims I think? Nope, need 17’s. The Tundra guys actually want 16’s that we have but they can’t fit them.

Sorry I was mistaken. It’s the 15 inch rims the tundra upgrade won’t work on. Should of done my research before opening a can of worms.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I didn't even think to look at other Toyota models besides 4Runner. Go figure. Looks like they are a 16" steel option for a 2001-2004 Tacoma! Only took 2 hours of searching... Per the research the calipers should work. Guess we'll find out soon enough lol
