    Hi Guy's,

Need some clarification between different models of the 2022.
Comparing the TRD 4x4 sport to the trail edition. Why should I choose one over the other?

    Thanks

According to the Toyota advertising videos, the Sport offers more on road performance vs. the off-road performance of the Trail Edition.

Thanks. I do plan on putting a lift on it so I’m not sure if that changes things. What is X-REAsport enhancement suspension?
There tough to get a hand on it if your not quick.

XREAS is a passive hydraulic fluid that connects one front strut to the opposite rear shock and vice-versa. The goal is to improve on-road handling and I suppose some off-road handling as well. It's proprietary to Toyota and is obscenely expensive to replace ($3,800+). I've heard XREAS failures at 50k are common.

    thanks for the info.

Will the TRD sport for 2022 be and any different since they are taking away two models the night shade and the venture and combining into one with the TRD sport?

No the venture was more off road based. if you going to change the suspension soon, like before 75k, then consider something with out XRES.
the sport is based on the limited and SR combined.

Ok Looks like the sport is out.
So now I have the trail edition or the TRD off road or TRD ORP. According to dealer there should be few trail edition coming in but not to many TRD. Debating if I should go for the trail or the TRD off road or ORP. I did see a couple of TRD ORP but was to late to reserve.

Just picked up my 2022 Lunar Rock yesterday. I'm in Canada, so TRD Offroad here is probably like ORP in US, but I got BSM, MTM (Multi-Terrain Monitor) as standard. And this is the reason I waited for a 2022 OR instead of 2021 Pro. (Dealer told me it would be six month waiting for a 2022 TRD Pro). I put a $500 deposit on June 26th, picked it up on Sept 14th. I will likely lift it and change tires, but not sure if it would affect MTM. So probably wait for few months to see what options I have.

I really dig on Canadian ORP’s are configured and congrats on yours. While it would be great if JBL was an option, getting KDSS and dual zone climate would be great. Do they all come with the sliding cargo deck?

That’s nice! I’m waiting for mine.I put my deposit down and hopefully I get this year. I wanted a 2021 PRO but couldn’t find one that wasn’t marked up. So I’m going to do some black mods and other things with the money I saved.

Should get a 2022 pro instead. If you're a fan of the color.

I hate that lime green. It won’t grow on me . Don’t really care for the other plain colors.

Same it's horrible but that's probably the only reason I got my pro for the color. Other colors can be ordered at other trim levels. I would say go for a lunar rock orp or army green. I love those 2 colors.

Thanks for posting the pic. My LR ORP is ordered and scheduled to arrive in mid Oct. Having the dealer install a lift and some other items. I’ll let you know if it affects the MTM, but I believe it will be ok.

Most dealers around my area will not do this type of work. I happened to find this dealer in Easton, PA that will do anything you ask. They lift many new 4Runners, Tacomas and Tundras and sell them on their lot. If you order one from them, it allows you to choose what you want installed before you take delivery.

It's a little disappointing, but it does not matter! I got what I wanted, I like what I have and I plan to keep it for 12 years!

I don’t feel screwed. I got a Pro because it had everything I wanted stock, and I got it in Lunar Rock because I thought that was cooler than the other (boring) color options — not because I wanted to be special. I look forward to seeing it around more.

Provided there was little to no “Pro tax”, for sure I would not be too concerned about the Pro specific color being offered down the line. Not like dealers are not taxing the heck out of MGM, black and the other colors.
Now if only for ‘23 they bring back the Sandstone or whatever Toyota called the tan color on the “Heritage Final Revision 13th Anniversary” edition.

Ditto - but we are now in the same boat as the army green and cement pro owners... I have seen but 1 other Lunar Rock in my area and now expect that'll change quickly with the 2022 options available in our beloved color.... Told my wife I was going to swap it for the new lime rush one just because but i was joking.. if anything, i'll wait to see newest generation and decide then if i am willing to go that route.

I'm in the Macungie area and know that Koch 33 will do work but I am working with Appalacian Auto Care folks located in New Tripoli. Kevin, owner, has been very helpful and it's my go-to for work right now. They've done my stage 3 icon lift, icon wheels, toyo MTs (285/70/17), schrockworks sliders, and will be doing my C4Lopro/winch/light bar install in a month. Worth checking his garage out for those in this area: https://www.appalachianautocare.com

NOTE: I am not subsidized by the folks at the garage. I just have a great appreciation for local business owners who stand with great integrity and customer care. Kevin was so excited to do my 4runner that we went up and did my first obstacle at bake oven knob the day I picked it up. He has video of it on their instagram: @aacoffroad
