i’m not sure they still have it, but Toyota of Escondido had an off-road with tech package as of last Tuesday. I bought one of the two off roads they had. It’s black. That was the only reason I went with the venture instead.

FYI that's a soft hit, the hard hits are what really matters, so until you actually begin the process you're not doing damage to your credit.

And for what it's worth, as much as we all want things, if this isn't what you want, and you plan on making it what you want, then you'll still not have lockers, multi terrain, crawl control.

We will help you build your rig on here, but don't rush it cause of the credit stuff. Defeating the emotional based new car fever is F*ing tough, however, so I feel your pain.

Like so many before me on this thread, I highly recommend you switch trim levels.

Switch your reservation to an SR5 Premium and save some money.

I don't think the timeline to receive it would be much different than the TRD Sport.

They will probably all come in on the same truck.

    Hey, thanks for your comment.

If I was able to just change my reservation, I would. But everything that i've found is presold, I've even looked at dealerships 2.3k miles away from me and they dont have any Pros, Off roads, or ORPs available. Even if I could find an SR5 premium, it still doesn't have a locking rear diff, crawl control, or multi terrain. It's definitely a frustrating time to be in, and with being on a time crunch in itself to get a new vehicle, my hand is kind of forced in this situation.

The way I see it is like this -- With any 4runner trim I purchase, I'm still going to upgrade the wheels, tires, rock sliders, roof rack and shocks (eventually) and add a lift. Basically the only things I will have to do to a Sport that I wouldn't do to an ORP or a Pro is buy an OEM bumper and OEM rocker trim. I would even have to add a locking rear diff to an SR5 as well. So I'm maybe looking at a difference of 1000 dollars in the end. Yeah, I know I wont have crawl control or multi-terrain, but idk if that's going to be that big of a deal for me. I know the benefits of both, and I would like them in a vehicle. But I'm just in one of those hard situations right now where I need to make a decision that's best for me and my family.

    Hey, thanks for your comment.

As far as I know, applying for an auto loan is a hard hit, and it only a single hard hit if you shop around getting different quotes within a small time period between eachother. If I were to wait, lets say 6 months before getting approved again, that would equal 2 hard hits within a 6 month period.

Called around to a few dealers in your neck of the woods and found sr5 premiums unsold and a offroad premium in transit that’s available.

Just wondering if you went to one dealer and they checked their network and told you there’s only a sport available?

also some of them were only willing to deal with locals, not sure your exact area. However you may get a dealer to drop the “only for locals” thing if you ask them if they are willing to drop that policy for a marine or veteran

I appreciate you calling around brother.

I've been doing some calling around today as well, for the last 4 hours actually. I was lucky today! After calling a billion dealerships in my area I found a 2022 TRD Off-Road in Lunar Rock that someone pulled their deposit on just minutes before I called in. I put my deposit on it and it's mine in a month! I want to thank everyone in this thread for pushing me to keep trying to find the vehicle that I wanted.

Very nice find. Replacing the Sport front bumper is no small project - a lot more has to be replaced along with the actual bumper...
The LR Pro owners will be ticked to know you can now get an OR in their 'Pro only' color...

Excellent find OP. This is going to be a much better solution I think.

Thanks dude! I am super stoked. But now I'm conflicted lol! I have a set of RSR RR5-S 17X8.5 in matte bronze reserved for me to order and I have to place the order by tomorrow or it goes back in stock on their website. But the 4runner I found comes with the black TRD pro 17" wheels. So I'm not sure if I wanna complete my order for the RSR wheels and sell the TRD pros, or keep the TRD pro wheels. Man, FWP at its finest lol

Just keep the PRO wheels. IMO they look good, so why bother spending the extra money on something you don't need? Put that money into a larger downpayment or into a mod that's actually functional. Like tires. The wheels that come on these are fine, it's the tires that are garbage.

Depends. I see the pro wheels are17x7. If you want to throw bigger tires on it you will need more width (depending on the size obviously). I went with RRW wheels because I needed more to fit my 285/75/17. So it is up to you but in the end it might be a wash if you sell the wheels.
