101% Ridiculous! In essence they said “it’s a tool, we dont sell tools” I was loud for all to hear and unfavorable in my response…

Evans Toyota here in Fort Wayne is completely off my list of options. There’s another dealer on other side of town which Ill try for service. They completely failed on sales and lost me forever with the shenanigans they tried to pull.

 

Nothing major put on a unibrow and it does not touch the paint. Very easy to install.

I don't see a reason to get upset. Just buy one from someone that does sell them

 

If it’s a dealer and the tools are
Available, they cannot refuse to sell them to you. By available, I mean it’s a tool the mfg requires the dealer to have. I believe it’s covered by the Magnussen-Moss warranty act.

The Act is designed to let you maintain your car (or go somewhere other than the dealer) without voiding your warranty. As long as you or your mechanic follow the mfg service recommendations, they cannot say “you didn’t go to the dealer” if you have a warranty claim.

 

Hmm, interesting. I have never heard of this part of the MMWA before.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but it sounds like an unrealistic clause to me.

For example, lets say your cylinders are shot and need to be re-honed. You're saying the dealer is required to sell you honing tools?

No. The honing tools are all commonly available. However, if they call it out in the service manuals as a special tool, then yes.

By the way, there is nothing that says those tools have to be cheap.

 

Eesh sorry, yeah I bought my tails from Amerilite. The first pair came scratched. They exchanged it no questions asked within a few days. Great customer service.

Plasti dipped the letters. Wasn’t a fan of the chrome or the blackout look, so went with an anthracite shade

 

Installed the Riversmith

 

Removed pinstripe, Removed running boards, ordered Pinsu Full Rack, OVS awning, blackout kits, and extreme LED light bars.

 

Rocking that 1Up - great rack!

 

I did some redneck engineering using things in my 4Runner to keep my chair upright and in one piece.

 

I appreciated the wax job I gave the 4 runner last week.

I’ve been working off and on building some drawers for the Runner. I did it somewhat different as the set I built is all aluminum. I have lots experience building structures with aluminum extrusion so.....

I am almost done. Just need to finish the second drawer with adding the diamond plate. I finished the first drawer today, built their frames the last few previous days and finished the cabinet too.

 

Got the last few pieces put back on since the wrap minus the sliders. Still waiting for them to get back from powder coat after fighting with rust for almost a year. Also installed the new alpharex headlights. After I noticed my passenger side was cracked from the tree we hit three weeks ago on the trail.

 

damn that anthracite looks awesome! i think i will go with that instead of black. very cool look.

 

Man I really want remote start. Great that it shuts off when you open the door so no one drives off with it, can't do that if the doors stay locked or stay running when key fob is within a few feet. Failed on this one toyota
