Have 2003 4runner v-8. Oxygen sensor above right cat was defective and replaced. Engine light has not turned off. What could be the problem?

also, tachometer does not advance as it should. Does not rise above 2,000 rpm.

You probably need the 4th gen group.

Things to remember: Call the dealer on those sensors. Even if you don't buy from them get the part number by giving them your VIN. On a 2002, only the dealer knows that my car came with A/F sensors and not O2 sensors. McParts stores won't give me the right one. Also, don't use McParts store sensors. They simply don't work right.

Also, what are your codes? Did you clear them? The engine light may not go off for quite some time with some codes. Clear it with your scan tool (simple ones are cheap, get one), then drive for a bit and see if it comes back. It could be a different code altogether.
