Agree, and foremost, if you don't reply to a customer within 48 Hours, and OP tried in different ways to reach out, without success. IMHO, they are not doing the right thing. Customer service is everything.

Once it has been established that there has been a misrepresentation and what type it is, then the remedies available can be determined.

Damages Financial compensation designed to compensate the victim of a misrepresentation for the harm done insofar as money can do this.

Hiding or ignore a customer (s) for dialogue, will significantly disenfranchise the seller. In the court of Law, this might be conceived as intent.

So, I believe. If you go the route to charge-back, you have a chance to get your money back.

As you can see, I did not edit anything. No idea what you are talking about with the "email received."

Same problem - no idea what you are talking about. Are you trying to comment on US consumer protection laws? I just can't tell.

Look, I only try to help OP with his dilemma.

When you charge-back, you need proof, why? The banks Guidelines go by a criteria, spelled out in the Law. That criterion is encapsulated in what I wrote, according to OP’s remarks.

That’s why he has a positive case to be refunded. I’m not saying he will be, he might.

In his case, I think it’s worth a call to the bank, saying I want to charge back for the following described.

“Once it has been established that there has been a misrepresentation (seller at fault) and what type it is, then the remedies (OP’s case) available can be determined.

Damages Financial compensation designed to compensate the victim (OP) of a misrepresentation for the harm done insofar as money can do this.

Hiding or ignore a customer (s) for dialogue, will significantly disenfranchise the seller (at fault), in the court of Law, this might be conceived as intent (seller is unwilling to talk to OP showing intentionally avoiding OP’s need to be refunded).”

It's remarkable that the email I received & the post you can see here have a certain resemblance "Speak English?" "You have no idea what you are talking about. At all". Btw. Everything gets recorded in the database before it's mailed by the mail server.

I'm going to put this to rest, I posted on this thread to help OP.

Sorry to hear about your experience and I’ve found that it’s very hard to find replacement skids where the aftermarket MFG makes them for KDSS Setups and documents it on there websites.

I had the same problem. I ended up having an off-road shop cut the front section off and build me a custom skid. In the end, this was better as it bolts right to the front bumper instead of the radiator support. However, it was expensive and inconvenient.

Here's a picture of the custom front skid:

    20200327_175244.jpg

I'll also add that I was not impressed with the overall fit of the skids. Some of the bolt holes were too small and had to be adjusted with a grinder. Strangely, the bumper was perfect. It's almost like my skids were built on a Friday and my bumper was built on a Wednesday. o_O

Wouldn’t mounting it to the bumper and not the radiator supports weaken it? I feel like if you smack that skid hard enough you’re going to damage your bumper.

It's a steel bumper. It's bolted to the frame of the truck.

Also, I'm always going very slow when I'm in rocks. :turtleride:

ah gotcha, in the picture it just looked like a black bumper to me. I can’t notice it’s steel unless I zoom up. Thanks for the clarification.

Btw. I forgot something, It's not so much about the automatic email response, see, it's more what's written in the body of the email. Still learning English as well.

The custom skid was made by a local off-road shop here in Wisconsin.

Did you have other fitment issues as well? I was ready to throw the whole set in a dumpster at one point.

SOS used to have a member here representing them, and he was working to get me some sort of compensation for my issues. But, he left the company and I ended up getting nothing. I will not buy their products in the future.

I hope you can get this resolved somehow. I was pretty annoyed at first. Part of me still wants to get different skids eventually.

I had similar issue with Artec skids while in description it said compatible with 5th gen 4Runner KDSS. I call them and they said full refund in order but shipping it back was on me. I shopped around for bulk shipping and found out it would be cost prohibitive ($400). Installed on 4th gen Non-KDSS Sports Edition (yes it fits). Called Artec again explained situation and they sent me $250 back for my troubles. Great company always stand by quality and service. I like saving money but also believe in paying more for quality is well worth it.

That's horrible customer service to make you pay to return their mistake. That should have been 100% on them and the fact they asked you to try and make it right out of your pocket is a huge red flag in my book.
