    hello,
I just bough this truck for my son today, when we were looking at it , we realized it had a supercharger on it!
Didn't realize it was an option.
Previous owner removed it due to a bearing problem, tossed unit out and replaced with a stock manifold!
    Here's my question.....
We would love to get a replacement OEM charger if possible, any ideas?
He says he removed or changed nothing else, will need belt idler as well.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,

The question is this really. Do you want to throw about 4k at it just to add around 50 maybe 90ish on a good day.

Here is the good news if you are interested.

The company that was Making TRD super chargers bought the rights to them not to long ago and they are now making them again brand spanking new ready to bolt on. I personally do not feel they are with the power gains but it's just my .02 in the matter.

You can find used 2nd Gen super chargers for around 2-3k but I would highly suggest having them rebuilt for trouble free operations down the line.

Really the 3.4 is pretty bomb proof. If you really want to make power with them and have some extra cash to invest go the turbo route. The gains are much better for the money. There are several 3.4 making in the area of 325 hp or more. That's Alot over stock in a 3rd gen! Remember 198 hp is factory rating when new.

I hope this helps out. I'm not saying don't do it but to do it right there are several things to do and get for it to be right. You will need a 7th fuel injector also with the super charger.
