That has to ruin the paint on the quarter panel, right?

Maybe a little, but not as bad as it will if that catches something and gets ripped off. Seems like a poor choice for placement.

I went in for my 50K (actual 48.5K but it's been too long) Toyota Care Plus this morning. The last one was 13 months ago and last oil was December 2019. I used to put 5K on every 3 month driving to work and my normal next 10k oil would have been June 2019. Then covid came and I no longer had to go in to work and the 4runner just sat except for grocery runs. I have since retired so it doesn't get driven much more but it's paid for:).

While I was at the dealer I looked around - not much to see in stock. They had 2- 4runner LTDs that I could see - not saying they don't have more somewhere. The lots were fairly empty and this is a high volume dealer. The show room was scarce except for 2 RAV4s, a Highlander, a Supra, a Sequoia - no trucks and surprise - 2 C8 Corvettes one soft top and one hardtop? Not sure what that is all about and didn't feel like talking to any sales people to find out. Oh, and the one RAV4 was a RAV4 Prime an had adjusted price for market value and color protection of over $64K - huh? Oh well, exciting times for car dealers I guess.

    Nothing special.

Kicker KS 6x9 for the front doors.
    Kicker/Subaru tweeters for dash position
Kicker KS 6.5 for the rear doors.

No special love for or experience with Kicker, just bought the tweeter replacements before I decided to do the doors and figured maybe having the same brand/series would give a better outcome.

Used commonly available Metra mounts and wiring pigtails. They're not great, but good enough. . . and I'm pretty good with a file and a drill ;-0

Sounded a little bright so I disconnected the tweeter portion of the 6x9s in the front door. Not permanent, they are wired so that you can just pull the plug on the tweeter lead.

    Sounds nice.

I bought the VE and regretted not waiting for the Pro. So some of my changes just make it look more like a Pro.

Added a Pedal Commander throttle controller (so much more passing power)
Updated base speakers to the OEM Audio+ system. Huge difference, voices are clearer and the bass is so much deeper.
Changed all interior and exterior lights to LEDs
Changed to the Catback exhaust - sounds so much better!
Changed the grille to the "Toyota"
    Added the TRD bash plate
Replaced the roof rack, with the TRD rack.

Ha, I was going to ask why you didn’t just order a Pro but I get it. I wanted a Bronco so bad, but the roll out is so bad I found out about the 4Runner from a little research. I am waiting for the 2023 redesign. But I actually love what it is now and am so tempted to just order a 2022. KDSS seems like a set up for a possible failure and one can’t argue with Fox shocks. So I am all Pro as well. Hoping this follow works better then the Bronco did. Chips seem to ruin everything right now.

I had Yellow before (easy to remove with a hair dryer), but it wasn't dark enough in dense fog, which I drive in almost daily.

You could wait to see what the '23 changes look like, but I've heard it's going to have 2.4L 4 banger. Which is what I was worried about. But at that point you could still try to get a '22. Plus I'll never own a first year complete redesign until they get all the bugs worked out.

I’m hoping they go with the 3.5 twin turbo or have an option for it, since that’s what the other makers in the class have done. Absolutely agree with waiting to see how a redesign goes. Extremely glad I waited to see how the Bronco did. It’s a nice vehicle, but the amount of problems for the price just isn’t worth it. But it did lead me to look into the extremely reliable Toyota 4 Runner. Fate is real, lol. Now I’m just worried this is a bad time to be buying a vehicle with the prices above MSRP. But if I can find a dealer willing to order a PRO at MSRP I may just pull the trigger. I guess I could always keep it for 2-3 years to see how and when the redesign goes. Anyway thanks for the reply.

    All of them.
Started disassembling it last night for the wrap to go on. Pulled the drawer system and fridge out of the back. Mainly because I need to clean some wires up and I don’t want the fridge drawing power for a week off the aux battery and running it down to nothing and damaging the battery.

Tonight the sliders are coming off to be taken to powder coat. Then pull the roof rack, and snorkel. The shop said they will pull The bumpers off if they need to get in there but don’t think they will since I left enough gap to tuck in the vinyl. Probably will pull the ditch lights and brackets. Noticed one of my squadrons is cracked on the lens so going to send that to Baja or see if they will just send a new lense. Also removing everything off the molle panels and transfer them to the wife’s 4R. I ordered another brand with a shelf and going to see how I like them over the rago ones.

Was there sticky residue left on the fog light lens after you took off the yellow ones?

No sticky residue at all, I just had to heat them up with a hair dryer, then pry from the edges, it sort of rolled up. I did clean with alcohol wipes and a lint free cloth, but no glue remained after removal. I like the orange amber way better than the yellow.

According the Google Wizards, it's to keep KDSS from fighting your suspension when you're in Hold My Beer moments (above 12MPH--when KDSS goes into control mode).

Just an FYI— in some parts of the country, amber fogs aren’t allowed (only selective yellow is legal). You can only have amber hazzards/parking lights (or whatever they’re called).

No judgement here. You gotta do what works for you. But just wanted to give you a heads up.

Looking so naked now. Gotta switch out my wheels next and pull the ditch lights. After that it’s off to the wrap company. Not gonna lie I’m a little nervous about it simply from the flaws aspect of the truck. Scratches scrapes, dented fender behind the snorkel etc. but the wrap shop said they have full confidence it will turn out great just like any other truck C46A2F3F-4B51-4AE7-B0C7-9C1A5DDDCDE3.jpg
