Thoughts? I’m only asking because I have my 21 set to arrive within weeks. I’d assume by September but 22’s will be right around the corner. Thoughts? Pros and cons?

Sounds like you want some confirmation bias. Only you can work this one out. On the plus side, if you wait and dont like the lime color, you can still get a new lunar rock orp next year.

Confirmation bias? Not following. I’m just asking for opinions as if you were in my shoes. I’m only interested in theTRD Pro model. Color preference is subjective so I know that. Just thinking the guy small confirmed upgrades like trail camera are interesting. Then again Lunar Rock likely will hold its value very high among the other pro exclusive colors if you only want a Peo and now a lower trim the following year with older colors.

side note, if next year is going to also be a 5th gen possibly and confirmed to be the last year, it would be pretty sweet if that last year allowed guys to custom order any of the previous Pro colors on a brand new 23 Pro.

Go for the LIME RUSH, be the first kid on the block to have one! Lunar Rock has been out for a while, lots of them around by now. With the model year, you know when you get a new vehicle towards the end of the year, in a few months it's 1 model year old, regardless of mileage you have on it.

Lunar Rock will be a common color for 2022 since it will be available for most models. I would wait for the Lime Rush and see what it looks like. If you don't like it then get the LR in the ORP.

First thought. Kawasaki color. But it will sink in. Very expensive purchase.

Congrats on your soon to arrive 4R. Opinions are good but at the end of the day, get what you like. My two cents; If having the latest features and a unique conversation piece is important to you; go for the '22 Lime Rush.

Whether you pick the Lunar Rock or the Lime Rush, you'll still have a LR and the end of the day. :)

I would buy the LunaRock and then trade it in if you like the newer color. I bought my 2020 AG Pro and traded it in on my LunaRock tundra Pro. Got pretty much what I paid. And now I can sell my tundra for even more if I would decide to go back to a 4runner Pro. But also my 4runner was paid for. So I did not need to put much out of my pocket for my tundra. All depends on your cituation.

Even in this market, it’s a bad money decision to buy something just to trade it back in. Even if you get exactly what you paid for the vehicle, you still lose out on fees, some places taxes, and your time. If you could get more for it, then that’s different.

That’s why I say it all depends!! I had my 2020 Pro almost 2 years. My pro had 7800 miles on it. You can do it if you are not rolling money into another vehicle where most do. Also that’s why you buy a Pro they don’t lose money. Yes guys knock them. There for guys or girls who do not want to mod them.

Not really a fan of either color, but at least with the Lime Rush you get a brand-new MY ('22) and all the latest upgrades (BSM/RCTA/etc).

After being told by two dealerships I would get a LR Pro, and both failing to deliver, I committed to a 22 in green. This was a few weeks back. Today the dealer that I’m number one on their list said there was no allocations the remainder of this month. He said I’d still get one, the first one when they were allocated. This from a high volume dealer one state away. So I called a more local dealer and they have one coming but could not guarantee the color as the color code was 5C3- which turns out is green. Supposed to be on a boat and I was given a vin, so another deposit was paid and it’s due in by mid September. Oh yeah, both at msrp. This market is nuts.

Just in case anyone was wondering (I know you arent lol), I went with the 21 lunar rock. Arrived at the dealership today and will officially take delivery in the next couple of days. Man, the color of LR is stunning in person. Happy camper here. Now, onto installing my heftyfab sliders, tint, a few other small mods, and starting the journey. :)
