On a 2017 4Runnner is there anything unusual or special tools needed to do a brake pad replacement.Reason I ask is that years ago I was going to replace the pads on a Caddy, bought the pads, changed the front, when I got to the rear I find out I needed a special tool.Any help would be appreciated.

Super easy, pull the retaining clip and the pull the pins. Note the orientation of the anti-rattle spring. Use the old pads to push pistons into caliper (gently). Remove the pads, install the new ones. reinstall anti-rattle spring and install pins. Reinstall retaining clip. Done.
