    Hi,
I watched many youtube videos on replacing the cabin filter - looked simple enough. I removed the glove box but there isn't a slot/cover for the filter. What I found is first there is a harder plastic what looks like an air hose. I removed it. Behind it I don't see anything that looks like the cabin air filter cover. Anyone aware of why my 4runner would be different?

I'll try to post a picture tomorrow. It's not that the cabin filter is missing, I cannot even find where it would be placed. Again, what I find does not look anything like what you find on some of the youtube videos. Does my truck even have a cabin filter? What is unique about this 4 runner?

What video did you watch because our vehicles don't use a cabin filter.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
No cabin air filter in a 2001 4Runner that I can find in the FSM. If you want, I can put the page up that shows this...

There's the first page out of the FSM. You may need a magnifying glass to really see it well, And if you so desire I can crop it down to just the actual page, without the "stuff" all around it.
Anywho, you can clearly see the air ducting, and I can't find anywhere a filter exists.

    Does this help?

Thanks Pat. I can see it clearly from the diagram you provided. This is exactly what I found behind the glove box. I appreciate your help very much.
