Got the new wheels loaded up and ready for tomorrow, put some grease in the UCAs, and I am right back to square one on which tires I want to go for when I go up to 33s. *sighs*

 

Revtek mudflap deletes. Never liked those long factory jobbies. Looks a little tougher without them.

 

Replaced the Cooper Evo's in 285/70/17 with KO2s in same size C load

 

what hitch mount is that for the spare?

Took it camping again. Thunderstorms all day. Tested the golabs solar generator. After 5 hours with a 5w 12v led lamp we are still at 47hrs remaining. Poison ivy everywhere. Drinking wine from our own cellar. Cheers !

 

Do you make wine as a hobby or professionally?

 

Gave up on the anytime back up camera so I just moved my factory back up camera to the swing out. I’d been sol if my wife hadn’t been able to help the piece of welding wire I was using to fish the wires through the hatch kept getting caught on something and I could see it but couldn’t get my arm in there to grab it. Luckily her tiny hands fit right in. All in all minus the initial run from the bottom of the hatch to the top wasn’t bad at all. And I was able to keep all my factory wires intact minus the actual plug on the camera.

 

Got my new wheels installed today. Love them so far! Sadly, they rub a little bit on the front mud flaps at full lock. (This does not bode well for me when going to 33s...) So, time to dig out the heat gun and re-mold the mud flaps, or just remove them entirely.

Completed the mod to replace my '21 4R right and left mirrors with RAV4 mirrors (w/integrated blind spot mirror). Both sides replaced ~15 minutes.

Her ride...her rules. She probably bought it to have fun. Looks like she is having fun. Probably more fun than you. "Value" is an objective concept. She may (or may not) know that getting it muddy will decrease the resale "value". The pleasure she is getting from off-roading in that manner may be worth the cost to her.

We all have our opinions, but at the end of the day we bought a 4R for our pleasure, not yours. If you don't like mud inside, keep the windows up! She probably doesn't like mud inside, either. But it is the price she is willing to pay for having fun her way.

 

Got my Sliders installed and front mud flaps removed. The Slider install went fairly smoothly thankfully...Aside from that rear passenger side L-bracket. Little bastard dropped into my frame and I have no way of retrieving it.

On the plus side, they are ready to rock and just in time for our trip!

 

If you want to keep your mudflaps, you could try getting an alignment done and having them move your caster up to 3.5 degrees or so.

If you do this, you would probably have to move the front of your fender liner forward and trim a small corner of your fender flare with a box cutter (both very easy).

If you don't mind the mud splatter, keep it as it is!

 

Yeah, I had my caster set to 4 degrees when I got my lift installed. So, I'm not sure, but I think these new wheels may have messed with that a bit. Once I get my 33s installed (if I could ever order them, that is.) I'll have it aligned again. Might be able to reinstall my mud flaps at that point, but, I'm used to having my vehicle splattered with mud, so, it's nothing new for me! *laughs*

I'm probably just going to go ahead and do a preemptive fender liner mod and bumper cut at some point as well. That may be next weekends project!

Still camping ! Rained all day, but it is all good, beats any day in the office. We moved to another provincial park, we are trying them all out by Lake Erie and Huron. We will be out 5 days by Lake Huron. Pretty secluded spots and private. I know the runner doesn’t work its worth in off-road capabilities these days, but we sleep in it and most importantly, we create beautiful memories !

The same thought came to mind! Reminded me of when I went camping with my son on a scout trip. At the first sign of rain the scoutmaster left. So, I took the reins and the troop had a great time camping in the rain. Nice setup you have there, especially the representation of refreshment.

 

From order to receiving was probably 2 weeks. I’m pretty happy with the ride so far, it’s been a couple weeks now and it’s nice and responsive, no more nose dive either.

 

Finally installed my Morimoto XBs w/smoked side markers, Aiden James light bars, and DD SS3 fogs.

My troubles continue. Vehicle started pulling to the right really hard, so, I got an appointment to get an alignment done and as usual set my caster to 4 degrees. Well, they got it to 4 degrees and it's driving much better now. Sadly, I'm somehow now slightly rubbing the Body mount on the driver's side....and my tires are stock size. I may well need to go back to my stock wheels at this rate.

On the plus side: I managed to get a set of 5 Kenda Klever R/Ts in 285/70r17 ordered finally.
