I replaced the front 6x9’s with kicker because I would fade it to the front and there wasn’t any sound coming from the stock door speakers. It is a JBL system.

now that I have replaced them with kicker there still seems to be now sound coming from them but I can feel them working a little. many suggestions as to what I need to check or do?

do you have sound coming from your dash speakers? I believe (just learning the system myself) that the signal comes off the head unit, to the dash speakers, then from them to the front doors. the rear doors and back hatch speakers have separate cable runs. would be a good first step in isolating the problem. if you have a volt meter, can check the wires on the speakers that aren't working to see if they're getting power.

Yeah I have sound coming from the tweeters. Though they sound terrible there is sound. I guess I could try replacing them and see what happens.

One of the best and easiest upgrades for the factory system.

just curious....any damage to the vehicle? a 2018 with JBL ought to sound pretty good still unless something happened. I have a '19 SR5 with non JBL (not sure what they are...) speakers, and while I do plan to upgrade at some point, the stock speakers sound pretty decent.

Not that we are aware of via car fax and all that. We just got it but it’s in the excellent shape other than this. My 2018 Tacoma has the JBL system and it sounds way better. Just don’t really have sound coming from the front drivers in the door. ‍♂️
