I have a 2018 white 4 runner sr5. The dealer told me that the tiny orange spots on my vehicle is rail dust. They recommended I use a clay bar to remove. The dealer did say they have a detailing shop that would use a mild acid wash to remove dust then wax vehicle. Any input would vote e greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Tim

Clay bar or iron x depending how much you have on your paint

I have quite a bit. Iron x safe for paint? I’ve read you do small sections and rinse when it turns purple.

Iron-X is safe for paint. Wash the vehicle as normal, spray on, let it turn purple, then rinse. I usually spray on the whole vehicle and let dwell for a few minutes. Only had an issue one time where it turned white and that was due to how warm it was outside and it dried. It rinsed off, but I freaked as I hadn't seen that before.

So, I usually Iwash, Iron-X, foam the 4R, then use a clay bay (Griot's is my pick), then rinse with a final wash after that.

    I've never heard of Iron-X.

I've always used a clay bar on my white vehicles.

Iron X and then clay bar. Iron X stinks so be ready for the smell.

I use it a few times a year on a white vehicle I daily drive.

    What exactly is Iron X?

    Never mind, I Googled it.

    Sounds like a good product.

It is and works great. It's a chemical de-ironing product as opposed to mechanical, e.g., clay bar or mitt. Works extremely well on paint. A variety of companies make a comparable product for removing brake dust off of your wheels.
