I finally purchased the Roam Adventure awning and I was very excited to install it, however, I have run into a small problem and am wondering if anyone has had to deal with the same.

I DO NOT have an aftermarket roof rack, only the factory rack and rails. Roam CS advised that I don’t need a aftermarket rack and that I could install with just u-bolts. Well.....I am having a hard time seeing what that would look like. Attached is what I think it should look like. The spacers are not being used in that picture but I am going to need them, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions??? I think I am eventually going to need mounts for the factory rail which I have found.

Hi - thank you. What brand mounts are those? This seems way more sturdy than what I am going to do.

    All of them.
The seems like a horrible idea. That l bracket could slip right out if it grabs enough wind. Can you drill through the cross bars that would at least get you there until the right brackets ?

You’re very right! Like I said I was having a hard time seeing how this was going to work. It’s not! Unless I drill into them which I may be able to do. I’ll have to take them off and look at it. Thank you! Because that would have been terrible.

Go check @Moon Landing's build or some of his old posts. I believe he or someone else used a mount that went around the side rails, not the crossbar. Kind of like the hi lift jack mounts

Ill 3rd this!!! if you get them on sale they are close to $50! Other than screwing it to your rails you couldn't build something for less than that (material + your time).

The GZilla mounts look amazing and very sturdy.

If you order from him make sure to get a few sweet patches too!
