    ^ lol.

There's nothing wrong with being concerned and doing your homework first.

Prediction: if he does lift is T4R, he's going to drive around worried about it 24/7. Probably best not to lift, then. You can always talk yourself into/out of any decision with enough "homework." At some point, you have to recognize what's right for you and your own set of priorities.

Thank you it's good to hear that your lift didn't effect TSS-P. Since this is my first 4Runner with TSS-P I like do my homework. My other 3 lifted 4Runners didn't have TSS so my homework was only on features of different lift kits.

Yes :cookiemonster:, I love to share my homework & experience with others so it helps others to do better decisions than me. I also learn from others who share their experiences too.

I had my '21 SR5P lifted 2.5 inches and I've had no issues so far. the TSS is still functioning the same as when it was stock.

Hi there, sorry to hijack this thread but how were you able to fit those 295/70 x 17 tires with only a 2.5" lift and without rubbing? I went to a reputable suspension shop locally to me and was told 285/70 x 17 is the max size you can stuff in a Gen5 4Runner wheel wells unless you do major body chopping (with a 2.5 lift). What is your wheel backspace and modifications needed for proper fitment and no rubbing at full suspension travel? Thank you in advance.

I bet @Thatbassguy should be able to share his experience as well in fitting 295s.

My 2020 4Runner upgrade went just fine… no issues with TSS and actually it alerted me yesterday when I was driving behind someone who put on the brakes so the person in front of them could make an illegal u-turn and I missed it.

I am lifted ~2.4" in front on 295/70/17's.

I will agree with that shop to the extent that 285/70/17 is probably the largest tire that fits easily. I believe a number of members here run that size without a BMC or significant trimming.

That said, if you're ok with a BMC and a little trimming, you can fit 295's just fine.

I'm at 3.9° caster, and have a BMC and modified the front bumper and fender liner. I have the front mudflaps removed as well. I still rub slightly on the firewall while stuffed and turning, but it never happens on pavement. I believe I could fix that with a little more caster, or taking a mallet to the firewall.

It might seem like a lot, but it's just par for the course if you want bigger tires. I love this size. I think it's a good compromise for someone looking for maximum footprint without re-gearing.

My wheels are 0 offset. I'm not sure what the backspacing is, but that's not really the most important measurement. Backspace will tell you if you're likely to rub on the suspension, but offset is what tells you if you'll rub on fenders, mudflaps, etc.

I hope some of that is helpful!

And, a pic because who doesn't like 4Runner pics??

Sorry for the late reply. I did have a body mount chop done and pinch weld. My wheel specs are 17x9.5 with -18 offset.

Well, I actually had my windscreen replaced yesterday, and as part of the deal, came the dealership recalibration piece. They charged $335, which of course, USAA is taking care of via reimbursement. What I did find, after putting on the Pro Truck 2.0 a few months back, the Safety Sense does work, but it wasn't as sensitive as before. I do notice the camera now facing further "down" to accommodate my lift, after recalibration. Driving home from the dealer yesterday, let's just say it's back to normal. LOL.

It doesn't hurt to have the system calibrated if you feel as though it's not working as it should.

    Cheers,

    Sean

It would be awesome if Toyota can re-calibrate after lift. $335 is a really good price for that kind of critical item. Does the paper work indicate any thing about the lift? So we have some assurance they took that in to account in the process.

Keep us posted how you feel about TSS functionality now (radar cruise, lane departure, brake warning, etc..)

No mention of lift indeed... In fact, the dealership I went to (Don McGill Toyota), seems like they're very "lift" friendly... I like their glass guy because he's very OCD like me. LOL.

    Here it is...

I'm in the Houston area too - thanks for the tip about the dealership. I bought mine at Autonation on 45 South.

Nice man... It's the one on I-10 and Kirkwood, not the one in Katy...
