Got a 3" Toytec lift, 17" KMC Mesa wheels with a -12mm offset, KO2s in the 285/70 R17 variety, SPC UCA's, RCI sliders, body mount chop and the breather tubes relocated.

Sadly this was ready a couple of days early and I couldn't go pick it up today because I had a surgery today. I have to wait until I am cleared to drive. Lol. #FirstWorldProblems

    Still super pumped!

I feel like an idiot. After nearly 3 years I just noticed I can lock the glove box in my 2018. The funny thing is I’ve seen it a thousand times. It just never clicked in my brain that “hey, idiot, you can lock it up if you want to!”

Some waxes/sealants are more prone to sheeting and some for beading.

I was using the search function (probably not well enough) and didn't see a thread talking about fuel. Nearly every car I have, I put premium in. Was just curious what everyone runs in their runner?

Most of my previous cars required it anyway. The one that didn't was my F150 ecoboost, but I still ran mid/prem because of the turbos.

I remember we discussed this few times in this forum. Here in CO we have 85 / 87 / 91. I only pump from "Top Tier" gas stations. If I pump from Costco where the options are 85 & 91 I go with 91(premium). If I pump from a station like Shell I go with 87(mid). I don't care the elevation - air density talks. The manual doesn't say anything about elevation . It recommends 87 or higher. So I follow the manual. I don't think it's wrong to use premium.

Got confirmation that my Cali Raised Sliders are processing, and thinking of getting the rear diff skid installed today.

I'm also starting to get cold feet on the 285s. I'm cool with doing a fender liner/mudflap mod. Bumper trimming and BMC I'm not comfortable with at all. So, I'm tempted to go with my initial plan of Grabber ATX in 275/70/17s or go the pizza cutter route with some 255/80r17s...Sadly, my tires don't come in that size.

Saw some Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs in 255/85r17 that I really liked, but, even with my lift I think those would put me in some serious "modify-to-fit" territory as well. *laughs*

I'm going to miss my 4R, but the market made it to tempting to sell it. I got $55K and traded for an Outback Wilderness. Makes my 4R feel like a dump truck. Got rid of $8K in debt and lowered payment by $250/month. Check classifieds if you want anything.

    You’ll be back.
Let us know how you like the CVT and if you get any better MPG than the 4Runner.

Managed to get it home today. Here are some better pics. Really like the -12mm offset on the KMCs.

If I don't get better than 12mpg in the city I will be pissed. So far I don't mind the CVT. The paddle shifters are fun. They might get me in trouble.

And yes I might be back, but I will never pay $52K for a vehicle again because I will never make $3K after 20K miles.

I never got to use the 4R to its fullest and at the end of the day its just a vehicle. They are all replaceable. I will never stop loving 4R's. Just couldn't pass on this market. So I looked for a vehicle that could handle some trails. Get good mpg. Quiet. Handle well. Big enough to sleep in. Lost headroom, but have more leg room. I need to test the fridge and mattress pad tonight.

I think more than the CVT its pathetic wheel travel would annoy on trails. Atleast it was annoying to me when I test the Ascent. Wheel spin on every bump.
I've heard the CVT is re-tuned on the Wilderness package, hope it is strong enough. I've joined few live talks on Instagram with AWDboys and CVT replacement seems to be normal to them. On one of the talks they even said some dealerships blame of heavier tires for the CVT failures so try deny warranty claim for the transmission.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I have a Forester and the CVT really isn't bad and as long as you don't beat the hell out of them the horror stories of them blowing up are BS. If his mileage is anything even close to my Forester he'll get around 23 pure city driving and 33 highway. Try getting anywhere close to that in our 4Runners, they just ain't built for it.

Sadly I haven't been able to really drive it yet to test out the rubbing situation. I did remove the mud flaps and also did the body mount chop so I would be surprised if it does. I guess I won't know for sure until I get it on the trail. So far I can say that in reverse with full lock there are no issues.

Shocking! I went from a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek to a 2021 LR Pro 4R. Loving the 4R, but honestly I was perfectly fine with the Crosstrek. That is a cool looking Outback! I would have bought the Outback in 2016, but we already had a 2002 Suburban and a 2013 Honda Pilot in the family fleet, so the smaller Crosstrek fit the bill. Enjoy!

You are very correct! It is just a vehicle. I have had my LR Pro for two months now and am really pleased with it, but if I had to get rid of it tomorrow it would not be that big of a deal for me.

I agree, -12's gives a good stance in my opinion.

Just FWIW. if anyone here listens to Scotty Kilmer, he says using anything higher than what is recommended for your vehicle, is a waste of money. I run 87.

Installed a set of Diode Dynamics SS3 fogs on my '21 TRDP. Sure wish I had my sequential turn signal side mirrors that were on my '18 TRDOR. Installation was easy. I had a heck of a time getting that cover off the back of the passenger side fog light.

Installed the early Trail roof rack on my '21 ORP and picked up the Grumman canoe from my brother. Been in the family since 1982 and with a little spit polish it'll be good as new.

Didn't take a photo, but installed OEM crossbars today. Fairly straight-forward installation.
