Seeking advice on how to deal with a factory alarm on an '01 SR5. We recently got it and we've had starting issues (and the horn going off uncontrollably) twice. It disables the start at odd times and it doesn't seem to be functioning properly. I imagine it doesn't work right, and I don't need it. Is there a way to safely disengage it?

I had a stereo shop completely remove one in my Honda station wagon last year. Drove me nuts whenever I tried to disconnect battery. I just picked up my 4rnr 2 days ago and going to do same thing. Previous owner did not know how it worked and truck would not start after I hit lock button in vehicle yesterday. Bye bye to another alarm this week. Good luck

That's what I had in mind. I called one shop and they didn't want to touch it. Recommended taking to the dealer. I imagine it's not a simple fix, otherwise the alarm system would be useless. I'll probably try another alarm shop. Thx for the reply and happy 4th!

I'm having mine removed tomorrow. Went off a few times today when I was at the dealer and not even near it. Stupid alarms
