If one were to replace the UCA, can the front strut/spring be replaced during that process without removing/unbolting anything else? I'm considering doing this. I did the 'no spring compressor' method when installing the Eibach struts, but that involved using the oem spring. I am wondering what's involved to replace the UCA & assembled strut/spring at the same time...

Your 5th gen does not have struts, which would essentially delete the existence of the UCA, we have springs over shocks conveniently named coilovers. The coilovers the 4runner rides on only physically mounts up to the LCA and upper shock mount, not the UCA at all. Undoing the three bolts through the top hat and the one large bolt in the LCA is all that hold them in. As for your UCA, the frame bolt and the balljoint to the knuckle hold them in. Doing both together is simple, or separately is also simple. Only other thing to do to be able to remove your coilover is undo your LCA balljoint screws.
