thanks for this suggestion. I ordered these and put them on this morning. It was very easy and this video helped give me a clear look at where to pry the lens covers off.

The front bumper will get lights (currently determining which lights to get). In regards to where the suspension is at. Nope, no plans at all. Keeping it the way it is. The part that concerns me the most is the axle boots but honestly that is not a high concern of mine.

Look for the new 1/24 scale Trailrunner. It's a lot less expensive than the 1/10 scale Trailrunner. It's not a true licensed 4Runner, but it's pretty close.

Thanks. I bought it on September 27th last year and I only have 2,500 miles on it. I have a company car that I drive during the week so I only drive the 4Runner on the weekends.

Probably will sell the old set up. Figured I would keep them on the old.

Picked up 2021 Venture Yesterday only 4 Miles Old - Nautical Blue Metallic all Blacked Out
Dealer installed five 265/70R17 Goodyear Duratrac Tires - Looks Great
    Added:
TRD Radiator Cap and 5W30 Oil Cap ;)
Yellow Fog Light Covers - Easy to Install
    AEM Dry Air Filter
Red LEDs - All Interiors, and doors (except under visors). I added some reflective tape inside the 4 door lights.
White LEDs - License Plate, Visors and much brighter Backup Bulbs
    Pedal Commander PC 27
Chrome Grill Strip Covers - Matte Black is Perfect - No More Chrome!
Center Console Tray with iPhone 12 Pro Max with MagSafe Charger with 20W 12V Adapter - It really works
Tri-Color Grill Badge (Blue) for Accents
Fire Extinguisher wrapped in cloths fits in with the jack.
Red 3M Diamond Tape on Door Indents - I do this with all my cars for safety at night

I was surprised to get the Black TRD Pro Wheels, and not the Gun Metal Grey Wheels. Also got a rubber rear cargo mat, cargo net and first aid kit.

First Impressions: It rides much more smoothly than my 2 previous FJ's (tires are actually quiet) and the wife doesn't refer to driving it as "Driving a Queen Size Mattress" anymore. Some 60mph wind noise from the basket deflector, but that was to be expected. Might remove the basket if not used.

Have not had time to check out the Pedal Commander yet.

Update: Pedal Commander didn't really do much, until I switched it to Sport Mode, and immediately got a Check Engine Light - Reduced Power Mode - See Dealership - Crap! I pulled over and disconnected it and its back to normal again. Hopefully no damage done. Sending that unit back. Maybe Toyota is aware of these 3rd party "Hacks" and is disabling them, who knows.

I unfortunately didn't make it to Rausch Creek this weekend. It was a rough weekend overall. I feel bad that I took a spot that could have gone to someone else, but life gives you lemons sometimes.

I got these LFD sliders on later yesterday. These are straight .185 sliders with the fill plates. They arrived after four months. I was literally one day from emailing LFD asking for an update, but then I got a shipping notification. It took a really long time. I've seen a couple people buy Cali Raised sliders after I bought mine, and they got them before I got mine. Yeah, international supply blah blah blah, but whatever. They were good when I got them. I don't really have any complaints about them. They appear to be well made and well designed. I looked to the Wanderlost Overland video for a bit of guidance even though they got RSG sliders. (I think they got RSG, definitely not LFD.) The part about removing the emergency brake mounts didn't apply to the LFD sliders. They're designed around the emergency brake mounts which is nice. I did run a tap through all of the holes. That's a new skill I picked up this weekend. For anyone who thinks it's scary, it's really not a big deal. You'd be surprised by what you're capable of after doing it yourself. Back to the sliders, they went on nicely.

I did nearly the whole thing myself with a spare set of lighter duty jack stands and a matching jack. I just needed a little help lining things up before putting the first bolts in. The sliders I got are the beefier ones, so they're extra heavy.

So far I'm pretty happy with the Rustoleum truck bed liner I used. It seems to be a little brittle on the underside where the jack stuff contacted even though I gave it more than half a week to dry, but we'll see. I also learned some more about painting and how the plates make it difficult. I did it the easier and sloppier way, but I still got everything covered. Getting the primer and the liner paint in the nooks and crannies of the plates was a pain. I saw someone else's slider build recently, and they had plates that bolted into place. I think that would be better than LFD's welded plates, but it is what it is. I wasn't too concerned about it looking perfect, but at least I learned a bit.

I also sprayed a fresh coat of Fluid Film on the part of the frame being covered up by the sliders before putting them on.

Now they're on and... they're on. It's now a bit harder to get out of my 4Runner, and the kickout doesn't give me as much of a step as I hoped for accessing the roof rack. I'm still going to be hauling my tire mount step for that. I mostly just wanted them because I wanted them and for a slightly lesser reason of the kickout step, but the kickout step ended up being less than I imagined. That's not really the fault of the sliders, but it is my point of view.

When I ordered these sliders last February, it was either this or spend a few hundred dollars more on an e-bike. Honestly, I wish I got the e-bike. I would have gotten it sooner because it was in stock at the time, and I probably would have liked it more and done more with it. But now I've got these sliders, and... they're good. Whatever.

I feel like a combination of two video game incidents from my childhood happened. In one instance, I could have gotten Yoshi Story (sliders) or 1080 Snowboarding (e-bike). I went with Yoshi Story, and I regretted it. In the other instance, I wanted a limited edition ice blue Game Boy Pocket so bad. When I finally got it, it was ice blue. Sure, it looked cool, but it didn't make my games any more interesting. I would have been better off with a couple new Game Boy games. I should learn from history.

Yeah, call me Gramma Ray all you want. I don't care. It wasn't your $1000, four months of waiting, and crappy couple days for an extended weekend that you took a day off work for.

Did you install it correctly? Meaning did you shut the car off and let it sit for at least five minutes and not have the key anywhere close by? It shouldn't throw a code at all unless you disconnected the pedal harness too soon. Also don't understand what you mean by power mode, is that turning power on?

It died when I switched from City Mode to Sport Mode. I had the remote 50' away and let it sit for a long time before installing it. All was OK until I switched it into Sport Mode.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I know not everyone has problems with the Pedal Commander but i read about more problems than I was comfortable with so I went with the Sprint Booster. I love it and I have not heard of anyone having problems with them. If you decide to return your PC give the SB a try, I think you will really be happy with it.

SR5? If so, did you do the valence install? I’ve been thinking of getting a front and rear for my SR5-P, though the thought of drilling holes into the bumper……

    All of them.
Mocked up a wind fairing now to just figure out how to actually make it work.

long story short we’ve learned to hate our front runner rack and a 4700+ mile round trip made it even more clear how much I hate this rack. So I ordered a different rack. But I was driving home today and had an aha moment. I quickly gathered some cardboard and went to work and holy crap it is quiet like no rack at all quiet. So now what do I make this out of. I have my attachment points figured out and also what do I do about lighting. I still plan on putting the new rack on but this will make me hate this rack even less until new rack gets here in 6-9 months.

My alarm went off just after midnight and by 1am the 4R was getting a bath(it was still 90 degrees out). No big deal when compared to todays high which broke a 40 something year daily record reaching 121 degrees.
