So I have seen many suspension threads and have read different, sometimes confusing comments. I wanted to know if I can get consensus on a specific question pertaining to my situation. I have a 5th gen 4runner and just bought the Bilstein 5100 kit. Here are my questions:
    1. In the front struts, it came with a black dust cover. Do I leave it on when installing it? I've seen some videos where they remove and some that leave it. Thoughts?
    2. I use my truck for camping, some off roading here in Colorado and I also pull a popup camper from time to time. I am planning a 1.75 inch height in the front but are not sure how much to lift the back. Should I install a 1 inch spacer or a 2 inch spacer in the back? I don't mind a bit or rake (not too much) but I also don't want the truck looking like a dog pooping with a noticeably negative rake. Any input will be appreciated.

    1. Dust cover is there for a reason but I suppose it would be perosnal choice for aesthetic purposes. You can research the negatives of having an open shock shaft for off-roading.
    2. If you don’t want reverse rake a 1 inch lift would be ideal.

If you don't like the look of the boot it's your call, personally I'd use it to try to preserve the seal on the shock a bit longer.

Bilstein sells a 1.5 inch lift spring for the rear, which would go with the 1.75" setting on the front nicely, closer to level but not enough rake to not squat when loaded

I appreciate the advice. I think I will go with the 1.5 in the back due to the camping loads and hauling the popup. If anyone else wants to chime in, I'm listening. Thanks again!
