Not sure if this is a deal or not. It has some quality parts but a salvaged title.

    1. This front bumper looks odd for some reason. Maybe it is me...
    2. Does a rear salvage title kill this?

I am not interested in buying; only learning more about the value of older 4runners. I know diesel trucks but this is our first 4runner and I am interested in learning.
    Thanks for helping the ignorant.

Absolutely not a deal, from my experience and hopefully others will chime in or correct me but your most desired 3rd gens are the 99/00 limited with locker. I live in Texas with probably near equally crazy ness to CA on the resale of Toyota’s. This is 2x4 and most enthusiast will look the other way!

Not to be a total Debby downer but there are some good parts on that 4runner and it’s clean but wouldn’t pay more than 2k with a salvage title. Make sure you can get your money in parts, certainly don’t think that 4runner would do it.

for reference, I purchased a 99 limit 4wd/locked with 270k and leaking coolant out the exhaust (obvious heads/gasket) I purchased to learn myself how to work on the 5vzfe and familiarize myself with an engine (lawnmower is propbanly cheaper) for 3k. I’ll admit more than I should have paid for the work but again, it’s for learning.

if you’re looking to do the same, I’d wait a bit. 7k is steep for any older vehicle with a salvage!

    Cheers

I agree, not a deal with the salvaged title, rwd, and mileage. Maybe $4k at the most.

I appreciate your input but again, I am not interested in buying it. Just want to learn more about previous gen 4runners.
    Thanks,

Not a deal and beware the "easy fix engine light". Sellers try to be such BS artists.

If it was an easy fix, they would have FIXED IT!

Agree with all the above posts. Salvage title can run you into a rabbits hole, not a good idea unless it was a theft recovery salvage. You can do a carfax or get a vehicle report of what was fixed and why it became a salvage title. I wouldn’t pay more than 2k for that. Plus being a Nebraska rig, frame is probably rusted.
