It's good to be back in a 4Runner

Hi Everyone,
I just picked up a 2021 TRD ORP in Magnetic Grey and I am thrilled to be back in a 4Runner after 5 years.

My previous 4Runner, An 06 SR5 4x4 V8 met an untimely end about 5 years ago due to a very unlucky encounter with a deer and a tree. It had given me ~160k miles of faithful service and did its job in the end by ensuring everyone involved walked away, uninjured. I have owned a lot of cars (42 at last count), and that 4Runner was the one I liked to drive the most.

I moved into a new Chevy Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 to replace the 06 4Runner. It was okay and served us well. However, in the 5.5 years I owned it, there was never the same connection to the Silverado as I had to my 4Runner. Never any major issues but there was never anything special about driving it.

Either way, the market on used trucks is so good, I traded in the Silverado for this new 2021 4Runner and I am so glad I did. It will be my daily driver so mods are going to be somewhat limited (mild lift, wheels/tires etc...). My more aggressive off-road needs will continue to be met by my 99 Jeep Wrangler TJ that I spent the past 2 years completely rebuilding (and continue to build).

It's good to be back in a 4Runner....

I wish I could make it tomorrow. Unfortunately, we have a big event for a friend here in Houston.

My wife and I are originally from Austin (all 3 of our kids were born there as well). We moved to The Woodlands about 6 years ago. Also, my best friend is from Georgetown. I've spent a lot of time there over the years.
