I hate too much technology. There are too many points of failure on these new vehicles.

I finally saw a Bronco sport yesterday. I almost wanted to puke. It is very small. The lines did nothing for me. It is like the old Bronco II. Just bad.
That said I really like everything I have seen about the Bronco but I haven't seen one & there is a lot that could go wrong.

I told the Toyota dealership that they should hold classes (like they talk about in the video) but that idea probably went nowhere. Imagine the local communities Toyota could create & they get all the feedback etc...

I just added some 4runner comments on their page. They are comparing the Bronco to the Jeep........I suggested they try comparing it to a 4 runner TRD PRO..........no one else thought of that yet?

I've wondered that as well, and, it seems like some don't even consider the 4Runner as a true Off-road vehicle. They just don't even consider comparing them at all. Now granted, the Bronco and Jeep are direct competitors, but, contrary to what some believe they are not the only two off-road vehicles in existence.

They don't want to compare them to a reliable vehicle.

I think it's a real challenge for manufacturers these days since some customers want maximum simplicity and others want every bit of technology that they can get.

I'd get a 4Runner with hand crank side windows, but the rear window has to be power.

I’m struggling to find a new car for my elderly aunt that she can function in. Some of these new vehicles aren’t intuitive in the least. She can’t even run the climate control systems, let alone control a head unit. And i can’t imagine her doing any of it while moving, even if she’d learn how to do it while stopped. And she’s a pretty sharp and “with it” woman for her age. She’s a long way from not driving. But she’s gonna have to get a used vehicle that’s still simple.

Seriously, 3 simple knobs is all you need for climate control. And whoever sits in the back seat can wear a coat or take it off as necessary.

Or maybe I’m just getting old, too!

Congratulations. Your aunt is getting a 4Runner. It's too high for her? She's getting a pimped out lowrider 4Runner. Hey, you said she's "with it".

I saw one yesterday, yuck! It was small and looks just like a Kia Soul with the front grill reworked.

I was considering a decked out Bronco but then remembered my time with my two Raptors. Ford quality is not good.

My local Ram dealer has the new Launch Edition Ram TRX for sale. Black on black and only $91k. I'm sure it will much higher quality than the Fords...

I liked the 90s Broncos but new Sport model definitely seems like it is more appealing to women. Plus I am not a fan of made in Mexico, the quality is less than stellar. The full size if you can call it that to be made in Michigan is still to small for me. It only tows 3,500 lbs as well. I just not trust these newer turbo engines. I think they need a few years to prove themselves.

I would rather spend my $40k plus on an engine and tranny that has some history. That’s what is appealing about the 4R to me is the history. All manufacturers are changing transmissions and engines so often for mpgs. That’s just my opinion though

The new Bronco is bigger than the 90's full-size Broncos.

Mountain man I guess you are right they appear comparable. For some reason in pictures it looks much smaller to me. Here are the specs from a general search on dimensions

At least the 4 cylinder has already had a few years to disprove itself in other vehicles. I don't know about the 6 cylinder, but if I was to get one, I'd get the 6 cylinder. At least that way it's a little more robust from the start to take the additional pressure from the turbo.

The 2.3L and 2.7L Ecoboost motors have been around since 2015 and they were modeled after the 3.5L ecoboost which has been around since 2010.

I think it's hard to argue these motors haven't been around long enough to give an opinion.

I had an explorer for 10 years and I feel lucky to have escaped with no major repairs, but the routine day to day took a beating on my wallet. Lots of repairs for things that shouldnt need be repaired, electric window motors, electric locks, thermostats, the capless gas vent pipe system recall, leaky radiators, multiple front wheel bearing replacements. toyota took it and gave me almost $3k trade in . New 2020 4 runner should last me 15-20 years.

The Bronco is intriguing to me in 2-3 years, but my 4R will be paid for by then so I don't know if I can put myself through another vehicle loan for awhile. The videos are really cool, but there is no way Ford can pull this off without major recalls and failures. Just wait and see mode for me.
