Greetings. The Mrs and I have finally went the route of a new vehicle. We live 2 hours from anything major in any direction in West Yellowstone. So we needed something dead ass reliable and can handle lots of snow. Insert 4Runner. We had to wait for the latest shipment to get here from Japan as we wanted a very specific option package. Nautical Blue, SR5 premium, 3rd Row, Moon roof, graphite SofTex, and running boards. There were only 8 of these designated for the entire west half of the US and our dealer got us one. We ended up paying sticker but that isn't so bad considering that most places these days are asking 8-10K over sticker. We also had the dealer add the Bronze TRD wheels and Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. Why those tires? Because we have had great wear and traction out of them on her Duramax. We also got the factory wheels and tires with it and those are for sale if anyone is interested. Thanks for the welcome and hope to be here a long time with this vehicle.

Welcome from Wisconsin! You folks live in Gods country! I have traveled and drove semi through your neck of the woods and just love it out there! Always wanted to get to West Yellowstone snowmobiling, just haven't made it yet. Enjoy the forum and your 4Runner.

Greetings from Massachusetts. As a fellow SR5 owner, I can tell you you bought a very capable vehicle, without overpaying for all the options. The tire upgrade is about the smartest thing you could do, especially living with snowy winters.

A&P, believe it or not, I have not seen a single episode of that show yet. I have seen where they put in for extras needing to be hired. So they must be filming somewhat near here.

MrMike, our only real complaint is that the shocks and springs are like I have seen before, rife with compromise. One of the next things on our list is some new Bilsteins and springs. We are looking to keep the stock - +.5/1" ride height but add weight capacity to the rear. So I have been looking at the Eibach 400lb with adjustable spring perches kit. We came home with just the stock tires/wheels in the back and found that we were not only blinding everyone down road with the new projector cut off angle, but ourselves with any sign that we passed. It is cost effective for us to travel to Idaho Falls or Bozeman for groceries and get two weeks worth. We also like to go camping with or without our kayaks and that often will entail quite a lot of weight. Being as we have 3rd row, there's a sticker saying our weight capacity is reduced by 31 lbs. But as we have seen, if you put two adults in the back seat, you are again blinding the absolute smeg out of everyone. The shocks are abysmal as well so we are looking into the Bilstein 5100's and something like 650 lb spring rates for the front. In short, we want stock/ish ride height with a sporty feel and good weight capacity. Off road isn't going to happen very often as it is our first new car and we want to keep it looking nice. It really needs to be capable for us year round as we on average get 170" of snow each year.

Congratulations and welcome! Updating the shocks makes a world of difference. I went with Bilstein 5100s and have no regrets.

Has the availability of Bilstein shocks gotten any better? Recently, they've been pretty scarce on shelves. There's also Eibach, which may or may not be any more abundant.

We have a few from when we took delivery, but I can't find any reliable image hosting these days and it's been way too long since I have been active on forums.
