Brakes Clicking?

Hey guys. I have a noticeable clunk when I'm coming to a stop at slow speeds. Anybody have an idea of what it could be? It's a 2014 SR5 Premium 4x4 if that matters.

I'm guessing it is the brake pads.

 

Sounds like a trip back to the dealership. I wouldn't touch it, they'll use any excuse they can to 'void the warranty'

 

I don't think they are factory pads. I'll pull the wheel off and check. Just seeing if anybody else had the issue.

Trust me my warranty on almost everything is voided lol.

 

Haha that's why I tell people with new cars every day to leave their shit alone. But I haven't heard anything about clicking brakes. Honestly I'm not sure what that could be.

 

Also check and make sure all your fasteners for your lift are tight. You bought it with the lift so double check.

 

Took my wheel off. One of the brake pads was rattling. I fixed it. Thanks for the help guys.

 

Hi guys, I have a 2011 4Runner SR5. Started having a clunking issue about 2 yrs ago when it was below 20 degrees but only after driving about an hr and then while coming to a slow stop after getting off the interstate the clunking started. Next day at about 35 degrees it was gone. A month later it was really cold and the clunking came back but only when slowing and braking a below 20 mph. Jan 2015 took it to the dealer, said it was a rust bubble on the rear and at 40 K miles we put on new rotors and pads. Now over a year later the clunking is back. Just took it to a independent shop that specializes in clutches, drive shafts, power train in general. Put it on the lift, pulled the ABS since the front a back wheels will not run the same speed when off the ground, a tech in the car ran it in 4 wd at about 10 to 20 mph and softly did the braking. The guy in the car could hear the clunking. The tech on the ground in front of the car could not hear it. Standing at the rear he could hear it a little. Standing under the transfer case we could hear it loud and clear but could not determine if it was the transfer case, front drive shaft or exactly where in the general area the noise was coming from. Before doing this we all thought it was in the brakes. I'm now off to find more help since the guy said this was beyond their companies field of work.
If anyone has any ideas feel free to share them

I just found an item from the Toyota Technical Service Bulletin posts.
T-SB-0016-13 is for Tacoma years 2005 - 2012 and is about clunking noise and the propeller shaft (drive shaft).

Hey guys .... probably totally unrelated ... but I had a similar complaint with my 2008 taco. Turned out it was the rear drum brake pads shifting. Anytime I would change direction (forward to reverse and vice versa) and apply the brakes Id get a loud clunk or clap. It was the pads shifting in the drum with the change in direction.
