    I’ll add that I just ordered the steel powder coated RCI engine skid with the filler plate and with shipping it was $405.41. I live west of Eugene, so shipping should be in around what I paid Which was $45.41

    Got my T4R ORP on Saturday. What a dream to drive after driving my 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 for 8 years and gnashing my teeth when I heard the cacophony of squeaks, clunks, vibrations, rattles, etc. Just nice quiet smooth driving now...

    The list of things I want to do with the truck appears to be as long as the list things I want to do to the truck. Speaking of which:

    Want to do: Beach driving and fire/forest road driving - I'm not sure what I need or should buy to do either. At a minimum I think I'm looking at a 2x tow straps and a hitch recovery point. Ive been looking at the Rhino package via Amazon, but $74 for a 30' strap + $40 for a second 30' strap seems steep. Any suggestions on reliable tow straps? Also, with the tie down points under the front end, do I need d-rings down there?

    EDIT - Got a Smittybilt receiver hitch; 30' ARB snatch; 30ft tow strap; 2x Liberrway hard shackles.

    On my wish list a roof rack, though, I am not sure if I should get a full length rack or go with normal roof rails and yakima box?

    Also on the wish list is rock rails/steps. Since I am not doing any heavy or even moderate trail driving Im holding off for a bit to collect info on reasonable priced rails/steps.

    Congrats! Amazing how nice these rigs are, I'm impressed every time i drive mine. Good news is Yotas seem to age well also, we still have our 2012 Tacoma we bought new and it drives just as well as when it was new. Have fun modding your new rig!

    Okay, the Heritage Grille - I want it! But, I keep running into kits that say they only go up to 2020. Will the 2020 kits fit the 2021s?

    AVS Bugdefelctor II has arrived; waiting for cartrimhome pro grille; bought a neat wizgear cupholder phone mount thats been installed; and waiting to be installed is a screen protector for the radio...small upgrades, but baby steps first.

    Next up: Plastidip the front and rear valances; and some heritage vinyl stickers (white, blue, grey tri-color) for front quarter panel or maybe smaller decal for the pro grille.

    Upcoming big purchases:
    Roof Rack - upTop Bravo - https://www.uptopoverland.com/products/uptop-bravo-4runner-5g-2010-2020?variant=33152880574595 - I'm being cost conscious here.
    Rock Rails - Cali Raised 20-degree - https://caliraisedoffroad.com/colle...4-2019-4runner-20-degree-bolt-on-rock-sliders - again, being cost conscious.
    Tires - I think I've narrowed this down to the Nitto (worried about the no warranty business with these) and Generals. Probably staying with the stock 265s, though 275s are intriguing.

    Need some advice - I'm not really ready to drop near $900-$1k on a full rook rack, yet. I think I wanna upgrade my tires first and put together my camping kit. So, I have a Yakima roof box already and am thinking that I should just get some cross bars to tide me over until Im ready for a full length roof rack. TBH, while I have this intrinsic feeling to get the full length roof rack, Im not quite sure if Im even going to fully utilize it.

    Can anyone share some insight into the reasons/factors that pushed you to get a full length rood rack?

    I expect to get :crapstorm: for this, but don't understand why everyone is so focused on the $1000-plus racks out there. We have entire multi-year threads about the delays in getting uber pricey racks from certain outfitters. Yes, you'd need one for some things, such as a rooftop tent. But for a lot of people what the heck is wrong with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/XCAR-Carrier...&pd_rd_wg=h23UF&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m

    I appreciate the reply...but, my dude, that thing is ugly af, lols... Nonetheless, I think you're right...while I think a full-length roof rack looks incredibly awesome, Im having a hard time right now figuring out how I'd use it.

    Lol yes, the Gobi racks and the like look sa-weet, and this things looks, uh, utilitarian? But seriously, if I had to travel with a bunch of luggage on my roof I'd rather spend $200 on one of these than $1200 on something you'd see on an overlanding documentary.

    I suppose another approach is to just but after market cross bars like LFD makes and install them.

    Ok, so I am an OEM nut, but wonder if anyone can lend a hand here...

    I have a Yakima Skybox that uses the curved clamps to mount on to cross bars. I've been reading that some of the aftermarket bars that are straight (providing a flatter profile) may not provide sufficient clearance for those curved clamps to slip under the bar without scraping the roof. So, Im thinking about getting the Toyota cross bars (for now until I really figure out if I want a full roof rack). Anyone know if the Toyota cross bars will provide room for those clamps to drop down and below?

    Also, re: those Toyota crossbars, are they quiet? They appear to require taking the rail end caps off to install, hence, taking them on-off doesnt seem practical.

    Toyota rock rails - Ive been looking at getting the oem rock rails and searching for insight as to how well these compare to aftermarket rails. My goal is to simply protect the rocker panels and under the doors area. I will not be rock crawling and my off road driving will mainly be fire service roads, beaches, so heavy gravel roads and sometimes narrow forest trails. Are the Toyota rails sufficient for these use types?

    BAM looks like a great place to buy things and I think Im ready to purchase a TRD front skid plate (I like how it looks); Toyota OEM crossbars; and Toyota OEM rock rails. And then Im ready for some low-intensity off-road driving and dispersed camping...

    So OEM crossbars are out - it appears that using them with cargo boxes can result in the box clamps striking the roof when clamping-unclamping and if there's sufficient weight the bars can flex causing the clamps to hit the roof. Now, Im looking at some Yakima Jetstream bars and Timberline towers.

    Im wondering if the LFD or other comparable bars provide sufficient room to get cargo box clamps around and under without hitting the roof.

    Also, local guy is selling his week-old Canvasback liners after his 4Runner was totaled. $125 and I think Ive scored a really good deal.

    FYI - I put the TRD Pro rims on my 2020 ORP and love them. No complaints at all and they look great. It all comes down to personal preference IMO. Also, Beaverton Toyota sucks massive balls - it's worth the drive to Hillsboro to work with Royal Moore. I'll never step foot in Beaverton Toyota again and they certainly won't get another penny from me.

    Ok, I think I am ready to pull the trigger on OEM rock rails. Change my mind...

    Relatively inexpensive;
    Im doing beach and forest trail/fire road driving;
    Don't need a step.

    EDIT: Im looking at a pair of 50" Yakia Jetstream cross bars and 4 Yakima Timberland mounts for $360 (barely used and in original boxes). Is this a good deal so I can get my Yakina Skybox up on the roof?

    If I install 70" wide jetstream crossbars on the 4R, will I still be able to install an awning?

    Sure, why not. There are adapter for every setup you can imagine.

    why do you want 11inches of hangover on each side though? Thats like having small wings.
