I have a 2017 TRD Off road. I am putting on a low range off-road 3 inch level kit. What tire size is everybody running? I can't decide 270/70 r 17. Or 285/70 r 17. Somebody help me make up my mind please

I don't think 270/70/17 is an actual tire size. You can fit the 285's with that lift with no or very minimal modification to the fender liner.

275's will fit without modification, but are barely bigger than 265's (stock) and in my personal opinion not worth buying for tire size change alone. 285's may require one or two or none of the following. Modifying the fender liner (super easy), cutting/removing front mud flaps (I had to cut my mudflaps) or a cab mount chop.

With the proper alignment you should be able to fit the 285's without the CMC.

It looks like you remove the front mudflaps is that all you had to do I'm going to be using the stock rims. And that looks nice

Beautiful 4Runner!! I’m getting ready to install my 3” lift and I’ve been on the fence about 285s and the dreaded cab mount chop. What specs are those wheels? I’m looking at a 17”, 4.5 back spacing and -12 off set. That with new PCA upper control arms I should be good to go. Any information would be great. Thanks!!!

3" all around? or different rear? Looks great, i honestly dig the sight rear sag tbh. Im goign with a 2/1.5 cornfed level kit to give mine a slight front sag.

285/70R17 with minor mod to the inner fender liner. No BMC needed.

    This! :D

Bigger tires definitely look best with that much lift. I would go 285/70/17 minimum.

I’m not sure, but I believe stock 20’s are 20x7.5 so make sure whatever tire you go with can safely run those specs. Check with your local tire/off-road shop for confirmation though.
