Hello! New member and just purchased a 2021 4R SR5.. lifelong fisherman and Hatteras Island regular. I plan to use it on the beaches of Cape Hatteras National Seashore(North Carolina)for fishing and relaxing, but I have a quick question:

I was stopped on an incline on a steep drive way..when I took my foot off the brake and began to roll backwards.. When I went to accelerate and press the gas there was no acceleration... just a flashing light on the dash, and clicking noise for a brief moment. Is this normal?! It felt like I had scrapped the undercarriage too but it just scared me how all this clicking, flashing dash indicator light, and the vehicle didn’t seem to accelerate when pressing the gas. Any ideas? Is this normal with the hill assist feature? Sucks cause I had only owned the vehicle for 2 hours when this happened. Thank you in advance

Welcome from Wisconsin! Which light? There are lots of lights on the dash, and most them are capable of flashing. Perhaps it was the traction control, or it could have been the...... it's hard to say without seeing it. Look in the owners manual and find the place where it describes the lights on the dash and the reason they are activated. I know it sounds like a smart-assed answer, but that's where I would start. Happy fishin' on Hatteras... it's on the list!

    It was hill assist

    Clicking is the brakes modulating

Light is obviously the warning light

Not immediately going on acceleration is because the brakes are still holding

    All normal
