Hello so for the past half year I’ve owned a 2014 2wd 4Runner and I live in FL. I pretty much only drive on beaches and small trails to camp and I was wondering what leveling kit I should invest in as I don’t see a point on getting a lift kit on a 2wd 4Runner.

Just slap a 1” spacer in the front and call it a day. I didn’t know they made 2014+ RWD 4Runners:eek:

I have good experience with this kit. I got this installed 700ish at a shop here in CO. Including my SR5 we have 3 4Runners here with friends. Even Toyota dealerships here install this to new 4Runners.

Just get Cornfed’s. They are low cost and work well. I had them for ~ a year until I upgraded to a full suspension.

That's what I've got too. My dealership installed it when I bought it new.

My only concern is that the stock rear shocks may be topping/bottoming out.

Sometimes when I turn to sharp out of a parking lot for example the rear wheel jumps the corner of the curb and makes a bang sound.

I think I may have lost some down travel on the rear shocks.

    Other than that, no problems.

Yes that's true. Stock shocks don't have the travel. I felt that when I run over speed bumps little faster.

You can have more travel if you change rear shocks to something cheap like Bilstien 5100s. Then it will come to the point of discussion why not do a suspension lift. And that will open the rabbit hole of why not change all shocks, UCA, on and on...:D:D

Thanks for confirming. I figured rear shocks with a little more travel would help. At what point do you need to worry about the brake line length and unseating the springs.

At this point that's my only complaint. I'm very happy with the ride on and off-road.

My Limited has spacer on stock springs and Bilstien 5100. I stretched a little bit to test and did not had issues.

I did ELKA 2.5 DC on my TRD ORP that is when I had to change springs + extended brake lines. Regular shocks like Bilstien 5100 you don't have to worry. A good 4x4 shop should be able to advice you with what options you have with your budget. I use Toytec here in Denver. There may be good shops near you.

Thanks guys. I don't have any interest in going crazy but I would certainly be interested in looking into different shocks in the rear.

I like the current squishy ride though. I don't want to make it stiffer.

The front has been doing great.

To be honest I love the look and the 285's but when I finally wear those tires out, I may consider having lift removed and running stock size tires. I'm really on the fence.

Thanks again for all of your input.

    :)

Yeah dude, that's a ridiculous price for that. Definitely go with cornfed or similar. No need to spend much over 100 bucks if you're just going with spacers.
