    Hello 4runner-mates,

The battery caused the slow start.

I’m voting the battery, how old is it?

The battery is one year old(From Costco).
Did an amateur load test: While cold, turned on lights, AC, window heaters, seat heaters and started the engine. The voltage at the moment of start didn't go lower than 10.8 volts, which I believe is still considered normal.

Auto stores usually do a free battery test also, just to confirm. Potentially a weak starter...

I replaced a battery in 2005 4runner last week when all I got was a click click click

Starts and runs now for a week - just turn the key!

UPDATE May 22, 2021: starts and runs every time still.
