About to pickup my '21 TRD ORP this week. Already setup my truck in the app and I notice you get a 1 year trial of several features like safety connect (like onstar I guess?), veehicle locator for theft recovery, remote start/lock/unlock and so on.

Notice that each of these is $10 bucks a month after the first year... seems a bit steep. Any thoughts on these features and services from 2020 or 2021 owners? Did you guys renew after the first year?

Just got the renewal notice for next month for my connected services. We have the Destination Assist (which is live agent navigation), stolen vehicle recovery/accident assistance/roadside assistance, and insurance connect. I renewed the SOS accident/roadside etc. Didn't renew the Destination Assist, since I have not used it even once... The insurance option I also declined. It offers to "monitor" your driving and send it to insurance companies to save on your rates. Yeah, no thanks.

The remote start and the stolen vehicle recovery are the only two options I'm really interested in as Canadian winters are brutal and Toyota SUVs get stolen more than you would expect in my area.

the insurance/driving habits monitoring is an easy no thanks lol.

Yeah there's a bunch of "features" available to me for $10 a month that I absolutely won't re-up for. Only one I am even considering is the Start/Lock/Unlock.
