Hey folks, need a full size roof rack to replace the factory one, what is important to me is that I can stand on it with my camera and tripod. A ladder is not completely necessary however I am open to that as an additional accessery.

    Any suggestions?

I was looking for something else & ran across this on LFD offroad's website.
I have read in the manual 120#. I don't know what they may know...

I have been researching this topic too, recently. I’ve noticed that the only time I see the 300lb number is from roof rack manufacturers.

I can’t help but feel suspicious about this. They’re clearly motivated to give you higher numbers, as their rack typically consumes 50-75% of the factory 120lb rating. It makes it awfully difficult to market a high dollar product that only leaves you 20-50lbs of cargo capacity. I imagine that’s why aftermarket manufacturers so often cite only their rack’s capacity.

Still, the static rating is probably plenty high for the OP to accomplish what they’re looking for with any of the options. As long as you’re not riding on top in motion, lol :turtleride:

I agree 100%. What they don't say is that most racks use the same mounting points as the factory rack. I guess the question is now about the strength of those points...
