While it pales in comparison to the other efforts posted here... I swapped out the stock Duelers for Toyo Open Country’s and took them for a run today. They feel great at 50-70 on the highway.

However, I am getting some rubbing from the passenger front when backing up with full counter-clockwise steering. I was not expecting that with stock sized (Venture) 165/70R17 tires. Looks like the rubbing is on the liner.

Also tried out a new Slumberjack Roadhouse tarp in the driveway. Looking forward to sleeping under it on my next camping/starparty trip this summer.

So on a whim I bought this hood protector with lights. When the box arrived I wasn’t sure that I was going to install it... I decided to do it and I’m really happy with it. Took a whole 30 minutes to install. Great product. AMS.

Tires look great! I am shopping tires and these are first on my list with General Grabber atx as a second. where did you get your Toyo's? Discount tire and tire rack both are on national back-order for them. Looks like i might be going with the atx i just wish they were blackwall, sucks almost everything in our factory size is white letters..

I did a lot of reading through the forum. Many good choices out there but the Toyo’s fit my use (long highway trips, rocky river trails and broken lava fields, occasional snow/ice on road) and they look great. I got them at Discount Tire. They had none in Beaverton OR but brought a set down from Seattle in a day.

Only drove about 20-30 miles with it on and so far I like it. Not sure if it’s the placebo effect taking place on me... but I do “feel” like the throttle response is better than stock.

Not to mention, I think my exhaust is slightly louder (TRD exhaust). As far as engine noise, it is definitely louder when I put my foot on the gas 2000+ rpms, even more so when I tried flooring it. Is it worth $400+? I think so cause I’m enjoying it so far. There are other options where you may get better performance, but I bought the TRD CAI because I wanted to stick with the Toyota brand.

Since I don't plug in my phone there I don't need it. I remove the USB drive like once a year to copy new songs. I just use those flush type quick charger things to plug in our phones to the 12v outlet. I love those SanDisk USB drives for their discrete look. It's hard to tell that there's a USB drive in there.

For someone who plug in their phone for Apple carplay or Android auto better to relocate it.

Yes, yes! Thanks for letting me know. The experience sounds real good so far. I have a ‘21 Pro too, less than 200 miles. Traded in ORP for it. Yes I have that dilemma stick with TRD theme for performance mods or go other way. I have been leaning towards S&B intake after reviewing that one & others. We will see. I have just spent some hundreds on materials I will use for drawer and sleep system for cargo deck, so I need to chill just a little bit. I like to camp and other activities, shooting on the BLM lands around here.

My trusty old F-150 is starting to rust out pretty badly and probably needing to be traded in here before long. We were in town, so, we drove around the lots of a couple local dealerships looking at trucks. Came across a stock 4Runner for sale at one dealership that happened to be at the end of the row, I knew what I had to do! I parked my 4Runner next to it so I could see how much different it looked between stock and my lifted SR5P. *laughs*

I was amazed at how much different mine looked compared to stock. Going from seeing mine stock and then lifted I knew there was a difference, obviously. I just didn't realize how different until I parked next to another stock one and saw the two together.

Congrats on the Pro! I’m almost at 6k miles! I don’t think you can go wrong with S&B. Heard a lot of good things about it. Check out trdjon review of it on YouTube if you haven’t already. Still deciding if I want to pull the trigger on a PedalCommander, but like you I have spent quite a bit of money on mods these past few months.

Full detail on her today, good wash with the foam Cannon and some paint decon, clay bar and then some shine supply sealant topped with there punch it spray. Turned out nice and was glad to get my detail on it since buying it at the beginning of April. I was waiting for the pollen season to dwindle down.PXL_20210516_212641509.jpg

Forgot to add I also got the front two windows coated with ceramic tint. This is my first vehicle with leather seats and man are they hot. So far with them tinted and my weathertech sunshade it seems to have helped some.

Had new tires installed, Michelin Defender LTX. Took advantage of Costco’s Memorial Day sale and had them installed for $770 OTD. Dramatic improvement in on road ride quality, really excited about these shoes!

Today, I installed the Brite Box. This allows the fog lights to be on by themselves or with the high beams.

I have been disappointed with the headlights on my 4Runner since I bought it 7 1/2 months ago. I swapped bulbs and they still suck. On the 2 Tacomas I have owned, making the fog lights able to be on with the bright lights or on by themselves was easy. Not so much on the 4Runner.

The instructions stated it was plug and play which is true. It also states install time was 30 minutes which may be true for someone who is mechanically inclined (I am not). A couple of hours and a few expletives later, voila. Anytime fog lights.

I waited until dark to take it out and drive it. HUGE improvement. I still may do something different with the bulbs but for now, the lighting is MUCH better since I can run the high beams and fog lights together.

Another cool thing about it is that it does not affect how the stock headlight/fog light switch works. If I choose to operate the lights in OEM mode, I can still do that, not that I would want to now.

The pics are not great but I think you can get the idea.

Awesome Job! … thanks for sharing the vid. Did you purchase the same switch? and did you have to add tape around the switch body as well?

Bro I did have to do the tape job. I used some super sticky and thick double sided I had on hand. Only thing that was thick enough, I just didn’t peel off the other side. The switch though, the one from 4runrun that has the truck and “Raptor Lights” printed on it was sold out. Bummer but whatever. I had to watch the vid several times at different times to fully absorb it. Once I got it all in my head it was easy. I did not solder the connections inside cab. Rather I used spade quick disconnect connectors I had. No need to solder inside cab but I went ahead and did it in engine compartment. What the heck, I have everything I need for this kind of stuff anyway.

it is an 18.5 foot Klamath OPW Light fast and stable excellent for trolling because it tracks well at very slow speed using the Mercury 9.9 Pro Kicker going 1.2 Mph has too many bells and whistles dual side scan with GPS Hummingbirds Dual Electric Cannon Down Riggers.
The Best part is it tows excellent behind the 4Runner if I get time I'll post some pictures of the boat.
