TRD vs SR5

New to the 4runner family and have a basic question. Bought my daughter a 2016 SR5 4WD and I'm wondering what the difference is between the SR5 and the TRD. Is it just skid plates and badging?

Comparing from the Toyota site is the best way to compare imo. This info will be still valid except for headlights and infotainment system compared to 2016s.

Best way? Does it really matter where one sources the exact same information?

 

Considering the link you posted does not compare models side by side I would say yes Toyota is the better way.

But both will work.

Yes. Toyota would have the most detailed and updated information. I have found edmunds to be wrong in the past.

TRD models have a lever actuated transfer case, locking rear differential, "Crawl Control" mode, and "Multi Terrain select" mode.

The PRO adds upgraded suspension and tires, and some cosmetic changes.

These are the main differences.

 

unique to the model roofrack, rims, badges and a definite sense of superiority towards the lower, lesser models.
