Recently got new 2020 TRD Pro.. and have been looking into options. I just have a question that I can't seem to find, what is the diameter of the factory rack? And has anyone found an option on where or if you can purchase more rack rails? Ive been reading alot of comments and seems like its not the most functional, but I do like the way it looks. I want to mount my X-Bulls on it maybe and need a good mounting system!

    Any help please! :)

This is going to seem kinda junky but x-bulls + bungees work well, the mounts you get with the x-bulls are useless.

The bars are 1.5" in diameter and about 7" off the top of the roof, so watch your clearance.

How many cross bars do you currently have?

I too am looking for a few additional cross bars for my TRD pro rack (2021 4Runner TRD Pro). I can't seem to find any online without purchasing an entirely new rack. Is there anyone out there who has upgraded racks and would be willing to sell the TRD pro cross bars? I'm located in Denver, CO but would also pay shipping.

There is a part number floating around for just one cross bar. They are the same bars as used on the FJ rack. I know that it's been posted on this forum. Sorry that I do not currently have the number or a link, but if you search, you can find it.

X-bull it self is junky. I used them on a Honda Accord who decided to drive in snow and got stuck and some of the the plastic treads are worn about 50%. I can't imagine what would happen if I use them on 4Runner..

Totally agree. My thought was that for $60 I got insurance to get out once or twice, so about $30 a recovery. If I ruin them, and find I really could have used them more, I'll spring for the MaxTrax, but $300 for a "maybe I'll use this" was a tough sell even if they would get many more uses out of them. if I used them regularly, 100% better quality boards with replaceable tips. I tend to wheel with friends though, and there's always a tow strap around so these go unused alot.

Well then, you have a full house(so to speak). The rack is rated for 110 pounds. Have you moved the top one down with the other 3? If so?, you know they spread the load fairly well across the rack. Perhaps we're not understanding something about your question:notsure:

I think they're 1.75" if memory serves me.
