What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

ordered spridertrax 1.25 spacer..

 

And all done. Overall, fairly straight forward install. Helps to have couple extra set of hands lifting the bumper up of you don’t have a jack or, as in my case, the jack I borrowed didn’t lift high enough. The hardest part was committing to taking a dremel to the bumper, but once I did, there was no going back. Left the light bar off, I like the visibility of the winch line as it wraps the drum. I’ll have a Heise SL30 lightbar and harness up for sale in the classified in the next couple days if anyone is interested. Still need to head up to our cabin where we have some nice big trees I can pretension the line.

I'm by no means an expert. But this is my 4th 4runner and surprise to see these 2 fuses on battery terminal. That's so awesome. I guess this is 2020 or 2021 thing? 70amp and 250 Amp fuses.
(I was working on getting a full time hot wire and a front camera wires in to the cab.)

 

Re located my tss sensor today. Down and out. Had to buy a grill for a 14 to 18. It took a little cutting and fab work. No more interference with the bull bar.

 

I want to do something similar, but I'm curious how it will hold up over time.

 

Also put a new trd front skid.

What bumper n winch is this

 

It's a warn bumper and a badlands 9k with synthetic rope. I know I will probably get roasted over the winch but, They have really good reviews and are at a good price point.

 

Props for admitting it, your the first. How was the install of the winch? Anything out of the ordinary?

 

The install was easy. The winch has the same bolt pattern as the warn. The bull bar did interfere with my tss sensor though. I purchased a grill from a 2018 and fabed up a relocation bracket. Looks like it's stock .Here is a pic off the relocation. See what ya think.

Got a high lift also. Been there done that. Lol! No fun but works!

 

How does the window frame attach? I always figured it was one piece with the door.

 

What are the fuses for?

 

I don't know about the atv winches but, I run a 12k badlands on my tacoma and I have pulled out way more than I thought I could get away with. They are good in my book. I have a cable rope on my tacoma. I put the synthetic rope on the 4runner. So far so good. One things for shure. If a $300 winch breaks, its not the end of the world. If a $1000 to $1200 winch breaks. I'm pissed. Just my thoughts. After all, you don't reach for it every time you go out. More than likely it's gonna do its job.

 

Anyone roasts you over your winch choice tell them you'll run whatever they prefer, just as soon as they

 

I was wondering the same thing about the fuses

 

Ordered the Brite Box Anytime kit to help with the pathetic headlights on the 4Runner and so I can run the fog lights anytime without the headlights if I choose. It was easy to modify on my Tacoma but not so much on the 4Runner. Hope to have the kit by next weekend.

 

Nothing. But I just put in a sell order for 6 of my Tesla stocks. My TRD PRO knows, I told him, and he is licking his chops now.

 

Didn't think I'd end up going this far, but, I have found myself researching some low profile steel bumpers and winches. Time to start saving up!

 

Probably for first level protection.
