I've noticed since we just had our first days above 50 degrees it smoothed out a lot... I am still planning to go back to stock springs on the eibach shocks but just wanted to mention that. When it was in the teens it was brutal. After riding around for an hour I couldn't wait to get out of it.. Most people could tolerate it but my lower back was asking me what the hell I am doing lol...

Very interesting. I’m from Los Angeles, it rarely gets below 50°, lol.

Are you planning to have the perch’s set at 0” - essentially stock height, when you switch back to the OEM springs? Would love to hear how the ride quality changes.

When I put the rear oem shocks on, it will lower an inch so when I do the front I'll put the perch on the third ring (1.6 in) and that will lower the front 1 inch from 2.75 roughly. I'll let you know it's going to be after Easter then I'll send an update...

From what I have learned if you have the Eibach shocks and I box springs you would want to be on the bottom perch to be at a 2.75-in lift in the front if you are up higher your preloading the spring and that would explain the extreme stiffness

thats exactly where I’m at, with a ¾” cornfed spacer on the rear. I’ll post some updated pics soon.

You’re correct, however I’m only on the Eibach shocks, my springs all the way around are OEM springs that came on the car. So my perch adjustment only bet me 1.6” (technically I got a bit closer to 1.75” on the fronts)

So why are you going back to the OEM shocks in the rear, while keeping the Eibach up front?

I would consider using just the .8 setting on the front shock along with the stock rear height. This will be the TRD Pro lift height and will ride quite well.

My thinking was to keep the same rake as what I have with eibach all around.. 2.75 front and 1.0 in the rear, then by switching the rear to oem springs I figured it would lower an inch and then when I put the oem springs on the front Eibach shocks, I would want to lower it the same amount as the rear so I just figured go down one inch to the 1.6 setting. Thought that would keep it at the same angle as current lift...

So I just had my tires re-balanced and while I was there, I lowered my tire pressure on the 275/70 KO2's to 36PSI for daily driving...HUGE difference in ride quality! I may have jumped the gun a bit on blaming the Eibachs...they're still on the firmer side, there is no doubt about this, but the overinflated tires made a much bigger impact than I assumed.

Yeah my tires are load rating c LT's, but when I bought it and picked it up from the dealer they had inflated the tires to 50psi and it was rough. It's a lot better now that it's warmer and lower psi. I am wondering if I got SL rated passenger tires of it would be even better.. maybe the extreme cold made the rubber extra stiff through the winter..

Shocks are all the same with or without KDSS and a complete used set is worth no more than $150

What were they at? Properly inflated LT tires means 38-40. Now that it's warming up outside, mine are at about 41 cold. I can feel it getting a little harsh once they warm up to 43. Man, you guys have obviously never driven a real sports car if you think the 4Runner is harsh lol.

Yes, an SL rated tire will of course ride softer. That's why Toyota equipped them on the 4Runner.

They were inflated to 50PSI. I'm now at 36 Cold and highly prefer this setup.

Coming out of two BMW's back to back, both with 19" and 20" run-flats respectively....I'd consider those sports cars, and run-flats ride like junk. There's a difference between a firm sports car ride and a harsh/jittery ride that makes everything in the 4Runner rattle.

Yes runflats are awful! 50 PSI would be too on a 4Runner... yikes!

Call any tire company and give them your vehicle and their tire and size and they will calculate the correct psi.

For those raving about ironman, are you guys using the foam cell (pro) or gas shocks?

I have the stage two with gas shocks and ride is amazing. I can only image how good the foam cell ride.
