    Hi folks
hope you all are doing fine.
I need an advice from experts
recently i've been facing some issues with my 4runner 2000. I shouldn't term that as "issues" as such but its kinda that i'm not satisfied with the performance it used to give me some weeks ago.
I have been feeling that the throttle response or the boost it used to get while reving from 0 to 100 is kinda sluggish especially after crossing 80 km/h.

i took an opinion from an expert here in Islamabad, Pakistan and the guy advised me to do three things
    1. change the oil to Mobil Delvac mx 15w40 (currently I'm using the Delo Gold Ultra by Caltex as was being used by the previous owner too) Is it a good oil? any users out there sharing their personal experience?
    2. Change the air filter. (the one currently installed is around 7000kms old)
    3. Get the Throttle Body, EGR and the Turbo serviced. (the Engine it has is 1kd-ftv <<3000cc turbo diesel>> )

    need expert's advice
    Would be waiting for replies.

    Regards
    Ambrose Emmanuel
    Pakistan

in my opinion changing the oil won't change performance, if youre getting sufficient oiling now and the turbo has good oil flow to it then it shouldn't be an issue. i think the air filter is most likely fine because you say its 7000km old. i would check the turbo out and see if theres a boost leak, what it sounds like youre describing is a loss of pressure at higher rpm and speeds

egr absolutely, it could very well be clogged, I'm not sure if a dirty throttle body would hurt performance that significantly

Absolutely yes on the throttle body. Do you know what the air to fuel numbers are at? If you can get a scanner on it I would do that and keep us posted.

Read the fuel trims. See what they are at and how much or what it is doing.

    THE UPDATE

So yesterday while going to islamabad i was really disappointed with the performance of my vehicle and decided to go to an expert and as advised, i did get the EGR, Throttle body and the turbo charger services and it did improve things some but still not to my expectations or what it used to be earlier. He asked me about when i had changed the transmission oil and i told him, its been around 2000kms.He checked the oil and guess what, it was all just like colored water with no viscosity at all. the gear shifting was also messing up . Long story short, we changed the transmission fluid to Liqui Moly (posting photos) and also cleaned the catalytic converter and the transmission oil filter and also he has given me liqui moly fuel additive for the cleaning of injector system. The vehicle is back to its glory and i m actually seeing the 1kd-ftv back to its life :) 13001245_1024740260928259_203899254540655293_n.jpg IMG_0524.jpg IMG_0525.jpg IMG_0526.jpg IMG_0527.jpg IMG_0528.jpg IMG_0529.jpg IMG_0530.jpg IMG_0531.jpg IMG_0532.jpg IMG_0533.jpg IMG_0534.jpg IMG_0535.jpg IMG_0536.jpg IMG_0537.jpg IMG_0539.jpg IMG_0541.jpg

    Doc

That's great news. I was kinda right about the throttle body.

I would love to be able to take a trip to Pakistan and just see the county. I know the north is very pretty but not really safe. I have spent a fair amount of time in Afghanistan and the mountain as beautifal.

actually the north is safe :) its some other parts of the country. Plus there is a misconception about the country that the entire country is unsafe, its not so, its certain areas that aren't.
