Bought a 3rd gen (1999) 4Runner Ltd in January with 204k. Immediately began having issues starting and then it began jerking at 30 and 60 mph when accelerator was fully depressed. Did all the obvious, MAF, plugs, wires, coil packs, PCV, tested all sensors (multimeter). Eventually I decided to just replace fuel pump, sending unit, filter, fuel pressure regulator, TPS, cleaned throttle body, and cleaned injectors and replaced two that were non Denso. Figured out the starting issue was a bad MAF sensor and the jerking was a non Denso crankshaft position sensor. I'm learning these Toyotas like the Denso sensors. Sure hope this helps someone that may have encountered these similar issues.

Yeah. USE TOYOTA or OEM SUPPLIER parts!

Especially for ignition components and sensors.

Mile for mile they are the CHEAPEST.

Cheap Chinese stuff may go 30k miles...but Toyota parts go for a quarter million.
