Stock suspension shoutout

That seems to be the most popular brand. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them.

 

I like the stock suspension more than I thought I would, to be honest. I'm not a fan of the nosedive upon braking, though.

That being said. I'm still going to upgrade my suspension for a few different reasons: Minimize/Eliminate the Dive, a little better ground clearance, and later on I would like to go up in tire size, so, that might help me out.

 

Interesting thread. I dislike spacer lifts for a few reasons particular to me but my SR5 came with one. I took it off and immediately just couldn't stand the nose down aesthetics. I put it back in and it does compress the front springs enough that the dive is better (and looks better). Will be waiting two months for my lift to arrive.

That being said most toyotas are built sufficient enough to do more than what the owners will ever try. Go with what you have or build it the way you want.

Oem everything, (suspension, & such) will suit 99.8%.

Most, just want a taller tire. Or "looks".
Even then, most of them, dont really wheel.
And even then, a person that can find a good line, and knows what they are doing, will out wheel a dude with a full on 10k built runner, that doesn't have a clue,.. with a off the lot, stock sr5.

Just me.


(Edit- and the "nose dive" thing,... i guess, expected it, in a 2 and a half ton brick, and never thought twice about it, in fact, felt the thing was fine as is, oem,.. its not a two door Honda. Again, just me)

 

When you put a spacer on, you're not compressing the springs. You're extending the shocks and riding in a different (stiffer) valving zone. That's why the ride can feel a little different with spacers.

 

On the road it feels great, off the road it feels terrible.
