Just Ordered an SR5 Premium 4x4

Ok folks. When it comes in the dealer is willing to do a credit for the stock rims and tires. What should I put on it? Looking t push them close to flush. I don’t want to kill mileage and would be willing to level it. Any other immediate mods etc? I’ve got a few months to wait and think. It’ll be getting a sub and amp for sure too.

 

Credit for stockers? Most likely not unless they have a need for them for some reason.

Not sure why you are asking us what mods to do. You should look for something you like then ask if it fits.

Also I’ve never owned a 4Runner so its all foreign. A good 275 that won’t tank my mileage would be a start.

 

Believe me if it wasn’t mamas vehicle I’d could care less. I drive a power wagon. Could give two shts less about mileage. More than likely go stock size. Will a zero offset Ed heel with stock tires put them pretty flush or is -6 the way to go?

 

I think a 0 offset wheel will put you close to flush and minimize any risk of tire rubbing. Anything negative past 0 I would think it’ll be a hit or miss if it runs but if you get a good alignment it could be easily fixed. If you have any good local off-road shops that know what they’re doing is reach out to them to verify anything before you purchase.

 

Seems like zero is the ticket. I’m contemplating the trd pro wheels too

 

I have a SR5 with the Pro wheels. Very happy with them. Dealership did the forward front fender nip and tuck, no rubbing issues with 285's. 2-3"? Lift.

 

What are you getting for mileage? Looks like you are running the ridge grapplers. I've got some time to choose wheels. She's not completely sold on the TRD ones yet so the search continues. We've found a few she's liked but of course they don't have the in the correct offset. -12 I think is a bit much.

 

Winter around 17 give or take,

Summer around 18 give or take.

Mainly city with short hops on highway no faster than 70 mph.

Driving into headwinds has a big effect on our rigs, mainly during highway driving.

 

yeah we found the wheels she likes if I can actually get them in a couple months. She likes the relation race wheels in the RR5-V. We are going to stick with a stock size tire. BFG's in load range C.

Doesn't exist. Staying with a mild treaded AT in standard load (P rated) in the stock size is the only way you won't destroy your mileage. Even on mine, I went from the stock Bridgestones to General Grabber ATX AT's in stock size, P-rated, and still lost a solid 1.5-2 mpg. No, we don't buy these for MPG, but I have to fill up about 40 miles sooner now.

My SR5 is almost your twin. My roof rail end caps are silver, and I have 275 Wildpeaks on order. Should be here Thurs. I did the Cornfed 1" spacer front lift.

I like the stocker wheels, too. Bought a used one so I would have the same size spare.

 

Yeah it was supposed to be ordered on the 15th and the jackass didn’t get it in. I’m a little annoyed. Now I have to wait another week. If they don’t get it this time I’m taking my business elsewhere. I plan on doing that 1 inch lift as well

 

Looks great, I really like that blue. If I had wanted a dark color, that would have been my first choice.

You don't actually order a vehicle from Toyota. Are you sure they have the allocation already for your vehicle?

 

This style is by far my favorite of the 5th gens. The black fenders & trim with the silver just look soooo good to me. Is this an older trail model?

 

It's not too late to get an Off Road or Off Road Premium...

 

This is a 2013, the last of the old style trail models before they refreshed the model line.

 

I've always loved those wheels.

I absolutely love the looks of the 10-13 TE. Sometimes I think I may want to sell mine, but then I look at it and think, "that's SUCH a good looking vehicle!"

 

Yeah. Mine is a long ways from stock at this point.

 

2018 SR5P

 

Still patiently waiting for an allocation. Hopefully I'll have good news next week. Just pre shopping for all the goodies. These things are as bad as jeeps. So far this is the list:

Black Rhino Ridge Wheels
Toyo AT3 tire in stock size. (SL) rating.
LFD cross bars.
Corn Fed 1 inch spacer
Some sort of remote start.
Black out the roof rails.
It'll get the black badging and a black exhaust tip as well.
We'll see how much we like the softex when it gets here. I'm not sold on it yet. I might need to learn to use a hog ring pliers. I've done Silverado leather before but it didn't use hog rings.

 

It took almost a month for mine to get to the dealer. I have that same model and added the LFD cross rails and front fairing. Love them. Also got the whole blackout package and love it too. As for the Softex seats, they’re very nice and evidently durable. A little warm but I’m spoiled as every vehicle we have owned up to now has had Katzkin and it’s just the best thing ever. I’m still thinking of upgrading but may wait for a full summer and see how hot the Softex gets. Just returned from my first beach trip and the Softex cleaned up very easily. Ran a vacuum over the seams and wiped them down with Trinova Protectant (recommended by someone here and so far I like it) and they look like new. Patience will pay off.
