I’ve had my 4wd go out on me 4 times in the last 4 years. The dealership has replaced the front differential lock actuator several times. They’ve claimed that water is getting in there and causing it to break but that makes very little sense to me. Especially since I haven’t done any water crossing or off roading since it was replaced the 2nd time.

    Here are my issues:

If the 4wd light is off I am able to switch into 4wd. However, upon switching back to 2wd the 4wd light continues to flash and I’m not able to get back into 4wd. Occasionally, if the car sits overnight the light will not flash upon starting. That said, if I switch it into 4wd it will work properly once and then the above cycle starts all over again.

I’m no expert, but it sounds like more of an electrical problem to me than a component failure. I’d try visiting a different dealer and see what they say.

Question: Did you ever get your 4wd issue resolved?
I'm looking at a 3rd transfer case actuator in less than 100k and was curious if you found anything out about yours.
    thanks
