    Hello everyone,

I noticed some spots on the black chrome tip of my TRD Pro exhaust. Scrubbing doesn't remove the spots. I tried chrome restorer but that didn't work either. Does anyone have any solutions?

Images are before and after chrome restoration was applied.

They appear to be acidic in nature. If they are? There's not a fix. Could be you went through something spilled on the road?

Who knows. I'm the second owner - pretty sure they were there when I purchased.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I've heard this could happen. I never care enough to look at mine :D

Try some Meguiars number 7mirror glaze Polish on there. Try the underside first where you have to be on your knees to see if it works.

I have used this stuff on my boat on chrome cleats as an example. It took a few applications but worked.

I know yours is black chrome but it might be worth a shot

I would just paint it black. If you don’t like that option maybe see if Toyota handle the issue?

I'd just replace the tip before I painted it. Just don't want to pay for it again.

Since it's such a flashy option that Toyota actually considers it an upgrade, then I want it to look good :)

Yeah that unfortunately looks like corrosion of some sort. If Mother's metal polish doesn't work, which I kinda doubt would, I'd say there is no repairing it. I think this is a common issue on the Toyota "chrome" exhaust tips.

Does look like some kind of corrosion, but I would try and hit it with some Krud Kutter. That stuff takes any grime off safely.

Mine had those before I traded that shitty sounding exhaust for a stock one.
