    Hi.
I have 2000 4Runner 6cyl 5spd 4wd with 190,000 miles. The rear end was replaced 6 months after I bought it with only 50,000 miles! Ya, really!

Rear end went bye-bye again last month!!
My guy having hard time finding one for manual transmission, as he informed me today....ugh!

I've got a few older truck welder guys who have tended to frame issues when needed, over last 5 years.
Yes, it's old, but always fixed!

    Any comments and advice?
I live in Massachusetts, south of Boston.
    Thx, Chris

Thx. Suggestions, parts info ....all welcome!
I can't imagine that there isn't one out there somewhere. I see them online, I guess I need more information regarding part(s). Many mechanic folk are looking for me. Fingers are crossed!

Can't believe the rear end was different for a manual vs an automatic. Maybe just the gear ratio was different?

Why can't the old one be rebuilt?

Only difference is the gear ratio. My 99 w/5spd is 4.10, autos are 4.30 is the issue with your axle housing or 3rd member?

    Hi M ....thx for reply.
My 2000 4Runner w/5spd is 41.0. My trusted retired mechanic friend said I need rear axle assembly wheel to wheel. And I located one as well. Waiting to hear on a work date. Fingers crossed.
